Redstone-Game Tick Sync
Standard Minecraft redstone is capped at 10Hz (one tick every other game tick). This mod overclocks the redstone engine, syncing logic components to the 20Hz Game Tick, allowing for circuits that are twice as fast, more responsive, and more precise. The goal is to speed up Redstone without changing the tickrate of the rest of the world.
Broken Redstone Machines Warning
Because this mod changes the fundamental math of redstone timings, many vanilla machines that rely on precise timings will break.
- Existing Builds: Any machine relying on 2-tick timings (standard 3x3 doors, older flying machines) will likely need adjustments.
- Piston Spitting: Some precise machine timings may now require longer delays to prevent piston spitting.
Changes
This mod modifies the tick delay of some redstone components. Components not mentioned are not changed. Below is exactly how each component is affected: (Note: 1 vanilla redstone tick is 2 game ticks.)
Transmission Components
- Redstone Repeaters:
- Vanilla: Delays of 2, 4, 6, or 8 game ticks (0.1s to 0.4s).
- Synced: Delays of 1, 2, 3, or 4 game ticks (0.05s to 0.2s).
- Redstone Comparators:
- Vanilla: 2 game tick delay (0.1s).
- Synced: 1 game tick delay (0.05s).
Power & Inversion
- Redstone Torches:
- Delay: Reduced from 2 game ticks to 1 game tick.
- Burnout: To support high-frequency 20Hz clocks, the burnout threshold has been increased from 8 to 16 state changes per 60 ticks. This prevents torches from "flicking off" during normal high-speed operation.
