Cross into the eclipse
Kindle a Waygate and step into the Eclipsed Realm, a dimension under a black eclipse sun with the Gracetree burning on the horizon. Rest at Grace Embers, follow their golden motes to three arenas sealed by fog gates, and raise the bosses who outlived their kingdoms at the Ancient Altar. Each boss has its own bar, phases, gear and creature family, and a personal Boss Hunts journal records every hunt. Everything can be tuned in JAuml config files.
3.1 "The Realm Endures" keeps the Realm as it was built, redesigns the Grace Embers and adds two creature families: the Ashbound Constructs and the Corrupted Relics.

- Seven biomes under a permanent golden dusk: the Tarnished Fields, the Gracewood, the Gravefield Barrows, the Ashen Wastes, the Lantern Heights and the Stilled Sea, with the Ossuary Depths below them.
- The Remnants live here. The Realm's creatures spawn across its biomes and never in the overworld.
- The Realm will not change. Survival and Adventure players cannot break or place blocks, use items on the terrain or empty buckets there. Explosions still hurt but leave the terrain whole. Graces, Waygates, fog gates, doors and chests still work, and Creative players are exempt.

- Craft an Eclipse Shard from an Amethyst Shard, an Ender Pearl and a Gold Ingot.
- Craft a Waygate: 6 Polished Deepslate around the edge, an Eclipse Shard at the top centre and a Gold Ingot at the bottom centre.
- Place it. The Waygate raises a stone arch 3 blocks wide and 4 tall, so keep that space clear.
- Use a second Eclipse Shard on the arch. It kindles for six seconds, then opens onto the eclipse.
- Walk through. You arrive at an Arrival Shrine with a Waygate home and a Grace Ember.

Grace shrines stand across the Realm's land biomes: a ring of weathered standing stones around a golden flame, with a beam of light that marks them from afar. Resting at a grace:
- heals you to full, puts out fire, clears harmful effects and sets your respawn point there;
- sends a trail of golden motes toward the nearest arena;
- opens the grace menu. It lists the grace you are at first, then every other grace you have found, nearest first with the distance in meters. Travel to any of them, or Depart the Realm.
Use a named Name Tag on a grace to rename it.

| Arena | Where it generates | Boss |
|---|---|---|
| Hollow Citadel | Tarnished Fields and Ashen Wastes | Hollow Sovereign, in the throne hall |
| Gravebound Catacombs | Deep underground, below the land biomes | Gravebound Warden, in the chain chapel |
| Forgotten Observatory | Lantern Heights | Forgotten Watcher, under the dome |
- A fog gate seals each boss room. Players walk through it. Bosses and creatures cannot.
- Each arena's Ancient Altar already holds the default offerings, so you only need to bring the summon item.
- The Hollow Legion guards the Citadel, a Burial Guardian holds the Catacombs' burial vault and a Soul Collector waits in the Observatory's memory vault.

Every boss has its own boss bar, GeckoLib animations, readable windups and phases that change the fight. Each has a spawn egg in the Remnant Bosses creative tab.

The Hollow Sovereign waits to be raised in the throne hall of the Hollow Citadel.
- Phase one: three-hit sword combos, a throne slam and a guard stance. An axe breaks his guard.
- Phase two (66%): his pauldrons tear loose and dive on their own, and spectral royal guards answer his call.
- Phase three (33%): spectral crescents and a soul lunge join his kit.
- The Last Command: at 10% he kneels and rains marked spectral blades across the hall.
- Drops: Sovereign's Ruin, Sovereign's Sigil, the Hollow Crown (the Regalia helm) and Royal Soul Fragments.

The Gravebound Warden keeps the chain chapel deep in the Gravebound Catacombs.
- Wide executioner sweeps, and an execution chop that wedges his blade so you can punish it.
- Chain grabs that drag you in, rows of grave eruptions, and Gravebound Soldiers rising from the floor.
- Phase two (50%): he attacks faster and chain walls split the arena. Break the four anchors to stagger him.
- Drops: Warden's Grasp, the Gravebound Executioner, the Crypt Sigil, Grave Iron and one piece of Warden armor.

The Forgotten Watcher is raised at the altar under the Forgotten Observatory's dome.
- Ring volleys of memory bolts, a sweeping focused beam, and teleports between the four lens platforms around the dome.
- Phase two (50%): memory illusions join the fight, and a rotating crystal aegis guards it. Circle it and strike through the gap.
- Drops: the Memory Staff, the Watcher's Eye, Ancient Knowledge Fragments and Memory Shards.

Ossukage, the original Remnant, still answers its old ritual, and it answers anywhere.
- It rises from a rune circle with Gravebound Soldiers, and cannot be hurt until the rite ends.
- A three-strike sword chain up close, and kunai when you keep your distance.
- Phase two (50%): it transforms and raises more soldiers. It dashes at you, sometimes followed by an explosion, Darkness or more soldiers.
- Drops: the Ossukage Blade, a fire-resistant katana that throws kunai on right-click.

- Craft one Ancient Altar (4 Chiseled Deepslate, a Diamond and 2 Emeralds) and four Ancient Pedestals (an Emerald and 4 Chiseled Deepslate). The arena altars are already built.
- Place the pedestals 3 blocks east, west, south and north of the altar, and put each offering on top of its pedestal.
- Use the summon item on the altar with it in your main hand. It is used up outside Creative.
| Boss | Summon item | East | West | South | North |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hollow Sovereign | Sovereign's Seal | Gold Block | Gold Block | Soul Lantern | Soul Lantern |
| Gravebound Warden | Crypt Key | Bone Block | Soul Soil | Chain | Iron Bars |
| Forgotten Watcher | Lens of Memory | Amethyst Block | Calcite | Chiseled Sandstone | Lectern |
| Ossukage | Nether Star | Skeleton Skull | Skeleton Skull | Skeleton Skull | Skeleton Skull |
- Sovereign's Seal: 4 Tarnished Regalia, 4 Gold Ingots and an Echo Shard. The Hollow Legion drops Tarnished Regalia.
- Crypt Key: 6 Grave Iron around an Iron Block. The Cryptborn drop Grave Iron, and a Burial Guardian sometimes drops a Crypt Key.
- Lens of Memory: 4 Memory Shards, 4 Amethyst Shards and a Spyglass. The Forgotten Souls drop Memory Shards.
The Hollow Sovereign, the Gravebound Warden and the Forgotten Watcher answer only inside the Eclipsed Realm (rituals_realm_only). Their rites also refuse on Peaceful or when the same boss is already within 64 blocks. Ossukage's rite works in any dimension: lightning strikes each offering, and Ossukage arrives about four seconds later.

- Craft the Boss Hunts Journal from a Book, a Bone and an Ink Sac, or sneak and use an Ancient Altar with an empty main hand.
- Every boss starts Undiscovered, with a short ritual clue.
- Witness a boss within 48 blocks, with line of sight, and its entry becomes Encountered. It then shows the server's real summon item and the offering for each pedestal.
- Defeat it and the entry is marked Defeated.
- Progress belongs to your player in that world. Losing or trading the journal changes nothing.

Fair multiplayer credit. The final hit and every player who really damaged the boss in the last 60 seconds, within 64 blocks, get the defeat. Arrows count for their shooter and pets for their owner. Spectators, bystanders and hits that do not lower its health do not count. A defeat is recorded only after Minecraft accepts the boss's death, so cancelled deaths award nothing.

- Each boss has its own pixel-art bar: gold for the Hollow Sovereign, rust for the Gravebound Warden, violet for the Forgotten Watcher and crimson for Ossukage. The Burial Guardian gets one too.
- REMNANT FELLED fills the screen of everyone within 64 blocks when a boss falls.
- Area titles name the Realm and each biome as you arrive and travel.
- A fight theme plays within 64 blocks of a boss.
- The custom bars, area titles and camera shake can be switched off, and the particle effects scaled down.

| Family | Where | Creatures |
|---|---|---|
| Hollow Legion | Hollow Citadel, Tarnished Fields, Ashen Wastes | Hollow Sentinel, Hollow Arbalist, Fallen Standard Bearer, Soulbound Knight |
| Cryptborn | Catacombs, Ossuary Depths and the land biomes | Catacomb Rat, Crypt Lurker, Gravebound Soldier, and the Burial Guardian miniboss |
| Forgotten Souls | Lantern Heights, Gracewood, Forgotten Observatory | Lost Pilgrim, Memory Wraith, Soul Collector |
| Ashbound Constructs (new) | Ashen Wastes, with a few in the Ossuary Depths and Tarnished Fields | Ashbound Crawler, Ember Servitor, Rusted Guardian |
| Corrupted Relics (new) | Gracewood, Tarnished Fields, Gravefield Barrows, Ossuary Depths | Shardling, Ancient Vessel, Relic Stalker |
- Ashbound Crawler: rears up to breathe a short cone of flame, and bursts in embers when it dies.
- Ember Servitor: a hovering drone that fires burning bolts and welds damaged constructs back together.
- Rusted Guardian: a slow-turning hulk with a ground smash you can jump over and a wide sweep.
- Shardling: floating crystals that take turns to fire.
- Ancient Vessel: a heavy urn that slows you with a pulse when you come close, and bursts when broken.
- Relic Stalker: lies hidden and invisible until you come within 7 blocks, then ambushes.
Constructs and relics only damage creatures. Like everything else in the Realm, they never break or place blocks. Every creature has a spawn egg.

| Boss | Weapon | Off-hand relic | Armor set |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hollow Sovereign | Sovereign's Ruin: hold use, then release a spectral crescent that cleaves through three foes | Sovereign's Sigil: tamed allies within 16 blocks strike 10% harder. Use it to call two spectral royal guards | Regalia: 2 pieces add knockback resistance. 4 pieces grant Resistance I after a heavy blow (every 20 s) |
| Gravebound Warden | Warden's Grasp: a chain hook that drags a creature to you, or you to a wall. Gravebound Executioner: +40% damage against slowed or chained foes | Crypt Sigil: undead deal 10% less damage to you. Use it to chain the nearest enemy within 12 blocks for 3 s | Warden: 2 pieces add +10% damage against undead. 4 pieces let melee hits chain the target |
| Forgotten Watcher | Memory Staff: a homing memory bolt, or hold and release for a ring of 12 | Watcher's Eye: hostile creatures within 24 blocks glow. Use it to blink 8 blocks for 2 hunger | Archivist: 2 pieces clear Blindness and Darkness. 4 pieces negate a projectile hit every 30 s |
Relics work from the off-hand. The Hollow Crown and the Warden armor drop from their bosses, one Warden piece per kill. The rest of the Regalia set and the Archivist set are crafted from boss materials around the matching diamond piece.

-fabric-,-forge-or-neoforge-. - Install Remnant Bosses on both the server and every client, at the same version.
- Updating keeps your configuration values. Start the game once to generate any new files.
- Remnant Bosses is a mod. It does not work as a Paper, Spigot or Folia plugin.

Do I have to enter the Realm to fight the bosses?
For the Hollow Sovereign, the Gravebound Warden and the Forgotten Watcher, yes, by default. Set rituals_realm_only to 0 in config/remnant/realm/realm.json to raise them anywhere. Ossukage answers in any dimension.
How do I find an arena? Rest at any grace and follow the golden motes. They drift toward the nearest arena.
Why can't I build in the Realm?
The Realm is meant to stay as it was found. Creative players can still build, and a server can set build_protection to 0 in config/remnant/realm/realm.json.
Can I change what a ritual needs?
Yes. Edit config/remnant/bosses/<boss>_summon.json and restart. The journal always shows the values the server is actually using, so players see your changes. The arena altars keep the default offerings.
Who gets credit in multiplayer? The final hit and everyone whose damage really landed in the last 60 seconds, while within 64 blocks. Nobody else, not the whole team and not the whole server.
I use another boss bar mod. Will they clash?
Mods that replace the whole boss overlay may conflict. Set custom_boss_bars to 0 in config/remnant/client/presentation.json to use the vanilla bars.
Can I turn down the effects or the music?
Set vfx_density between 0 and 1, and camera_shake to 0, in config/remnant/client/presentation.json. Set boss_music_enabled to 0 in a boss's config to silence its fight theme.
