Server Reset On Any Player Death
A dedicated-server Fabric mod that turns your Minecraft server into a shared hardcore run. When a player dies, everyone is moved into a fresh world—completely restartless, with no server shutdown required.
How It Works (v2)
Instead of stopping the server to delete and recreate the world folder on disk, gameplay runs inside numbered, rotating dimension sets:
- Rotating Dimensions: All gameplay occurs in the active numbered set (
reset_0,reset_1, etc.) across the Overworld, Nether, and The End. - Restartless Resets: When the death limit is reached, the next dimension set activates immediately, and players respawn together with cleared inventories without disconnecting.
- Automatic Cleanup: Previous dimension sets are unloaded and deleted in the background.
- Portals & Logins: Portals link directly between the active dimensions, and connecting players are routed straight into the current world.
Version 1 (Legacy)
Version 1 is available for people who simply want a new world created every time.
Instead of using rotating dimensions, v1 shuts down the server upon death, deletes the old world folder from disk, and generates a fresh vanilla world on the next startup.
External Wrappers
Using an external wrapper or restart loop is highly recommended either way for any dedicated server to guarantee automatic recovery from crashes, memory limits, or reboots:
- v2 (Current): Resets take place live in-memory without stopping the Java process. A wrapper is not required to perform resets, but is still recommended to at least start the server.
- v1: An external wrapper or panel auto-restart is required because v1 stops the server process to wipe the world directory. Below is an example of such a wrapper.
Windows (run.bat)
@echo off
:restart
java -jar fabric-server-launch.jar nogui
goto restart
