I forgot what I wanted to name the mod in the end, so I just went back to my second idea.
This mod was inspired by mediumcore, however I thought, losing the world was a little bit rough, though I didn't want to absuing death being an option either.
So this mod not only makes you lose hearts on death, but also lowers your damage output, speed and many other things. With the twist, that you can only restore everything, by just not dying over a longer period of time.
The value is called soul exhaustion, there is a soul exhaustion command, that can actively change of effected you currently want to be by it.
Forcing you to not do whatever you did before, and literally makes you have to wait it out, as you can end up being at a point where you literally can't do anything.
This mod is highly configurable, so you can change the minimum amount of hearts, or essentially turn of certain features, like the mining fatigue.
There is also an option to lose maximum health when having the wither effect for a certain amount of time.
Note: This mod can be installed server side only, but it works in singleplayer too. Modrinth is a little bit bugged when it comes to picking that.
Feel free to add to your modpacks!
