ā Shift2Offhand
A tiny Quality-of-Life Minecraft mod that lets you shift crafted items directly into your offhand.
Minecraft normally prevents shift-clicking crafted items into the offhand when your inventory is full ā even if the offhand already contains the same item.
Shift2Offhand fixes this small but annoying limitation.
⨠Features
- š¦ Shift-click crafted items into your offhand
- š§° Works even when your inventory is completely full
- š Automatically merges crafted items with the stack in your offhand
- šÆ Only activates when it actually makes sense
āļø How It Works
This behavior only triggers if the same item is already in your offhand.
Example
- Your offhand contains 10 Oak Planks
- Your inventory is completely full
- You craft Oak Planks from logs
- You shift-click the crafting result
ā” The crafted planks will merge directly into the offhand stack.
š Stack Overflow Behavior
If the crafted items exceed the maximum stack size:
- The offhand stack will fill up to 64 items
- Any remaining items will be dropped on the ground
This ensures:
- ā No item loss
- ā No blocked crafting
- ā Consistent Minecraft behavior
šÆ Scope
Shift2Offhand intentionally keeps things simple and lightweight:
- ā Only affects shift-clicking from the player's 2Ć2 crafting grid
- ā Does not modify normal inventory mechanics
- ā Minimal performance impact
š” Why This Mod?
Because if the item is already in your offhand, Minecraft should simply stack it there ā even when your inventory is full.
Small fix. Big convenience.
