Silent Villagers

Silent Villagers is a simple client-side mod that quiets down villagers by muting most of their sounds, while still letting important ones come through. The selection of sounds may change in future updates.

Muted Sounds

  • Villager ambient sounds (adult, nitwit, child)
  • Trading responses (yes, no, trade)
  • Work sounds (armorer, butcher, cartographer, cleric, farmer, fisherman, fletcher, leatherworker, librarian, mason, shepherd, toolsmith, weaponsmith)
  • Sleeping and celebration sounds
  • Wandering trader ambient/trade/yes/no

Sounds Still Heard

  • Hurt sounds
  • Death sounds (currently not muted)

Features

  • Press M (default keybind) to toggle muting on/off.
  • Quick notification when muting is toggled.
  • Works with both villagers and wandering traders.
