Simple Disenchant
Simple Disenchant is a lightweight Fabric mod designed to provide a balanced and vanilla-friendly disenchanting mechanic. This mod allows you to extract magical energy from your tools and armor, storing it back into books without destroying the original item.
How it Works
The process is intuitive and utilizes the standard Anvil to perform the energy transfer:
- Preparation: Place the enchanted object (sword, pickaxe, armor, etc.) in the first slot (left) of the anvil.
- Storage Medium: Place a normal Book in the second slot (center).
- Result: The anvil will generate an Enchanted Book containing all the enchantments previously held by the original item, while preserving the original item without enchantments.
Key Features
- Item Preservation: Unlike the Grindstone which wipes enchantments, or other methods that destroy the tool, this mod allows you to keep the original item. The item remains in the anvil after the book is taken, leaving it "clean" and ready to be re-enchanted or repaired.
- Experience Cost: Extracting the essence of an enchantment is not free. Each operation has a fixed cost of 5 experience levels, maintaining game balance.
- Inventory Safety: To prevent accidental material loss, the mod automatically detects book stacks and only allows processing one book at a time.
- Total Integration: No new blocks, entities, or complex interfaces are added. All code is injected directly into the vanilla anvil logic, ensuring high performance and compatibility.
Technical Specifications
- Minecraft Version: Developed specifically for version 26.1, but it works fine with 26.1.x
- Requirements: Requires Fabric Loader with the Fabric API environment.
- License: Published under the CC0-1.0 license.
