Tired of smelting your sand, clay and stones slower than your ores and food?
Why haven't Mojang added an equivalent to the Blast Furnace and Smoker, but for ceramics and stones?

SimpleKiln aims to fix this issue, adding an easy to grasp Kiln feature with adjacent functionality to the Smoker and Blast Furnace. This mod doesn't add any fluff on the side, making it the perfect lightweight, vanilla+ addition to your server, modpack or singleplayer world!

The features list is intentionally short, we wanted to keep the mod as simple and easy to use as possible. Technically, the only feature added is the Kiln itself and its recipes. The kiln behaves identically to Blast Furnaces and Smokers, smelting it's respective items/blocks faster than a standard furnace would. While at first this does seem to make the furnace obsolete, we wanted to add some sense of progression into the crafting recipe via the Blackstone Slab. This requires the player to have entered The Nether, retaining the furnace's supremacy in the early-mid game and giving the player a faster, more specific way to smelt ceramics and stones in the late game.

We also found the Kiln worked well in certain bulding scenarios, flooring or wall-trims for example. Check out the Gallery for some examples.

The recipes covered by the Kiln are as such: (We left a few out here, as some are essentially duplicates for other variants, e.g. stone bricks, smooth quartz)
