Skin Refresh Debugger Mod

This mod was created after encountering a multiplayer issue where the correct skin texture was loaded, but the outer head layer would randomly fail to appear after joining. The layer could immediately be restored by manually toggling the Minecraft Hat skin customization option off and back on.

Rather than requiring players to repeat that workaround after joining, this mod performs the refresh automatically.

Server installation

This is primarily a client-side mod. Servers using modpack synchronization tools may distribute it to clients as part of their modpack.
