A vanilla-friendly mod that adds steel tools and armor as an upgrade to iron.
Also on curseforge: https://legacy.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/smithing-steel
The current versions are for 1.20.4 neoforge/1.20.1 forge and fabric.
Get steel from smelting crude iron in a blast furnace and use it to upgrade iron tools and armor in a smithing table.
Content:
- Steel Armor (stronger than iron with slight knockback resistance);
- Steel tools (strong as diamond tools with less attack speed and durability);
- Steel nugget, ingot and block;
- Smithing Hammer, get it from villager trading (can mine with, same damage as steel sword with high knockback);
- Limestone dust, and sand (sand has a chance to generate naturally);
- Limestone ore (drops 1 limestone dust), comes in two variants: deepslate limestone ore generates between -64 and 0, dripstone limestone ore generates between -64 and 64 only on dripstone caves,
- Crude iron (crafted with 1 limestone dust, 2 coal (any), and 4 raw iron);
- Crude iron block (has a chance to generate naturally);
- Steel golem, stronger than iron golem;
- Steel door, trap door, pressure plate, bars;
Compatible with my other mod:
- More Vanilla Tools: unlocks steel recipes for the extra tools and a recipe for the hammer,
Notes:
- Because I use Mcreator to make the mods, I won't be able to uptade the fabric version until the plugin is updated.
