Solar Heat Realism
A unique mod to mimic the realism of sun to some extent. This mod is built for Minecraft 1.21 version using fabric api. This mod forces player to respect the power of the sun by introducing dynamic temperature, hydration mechanics, armor weight mechanics, and water evaporation.
Key Features
1. Heavy Armor Weight Penalty
Wearing heavy armor such as armor made from diamonds and nethrite will slow you down. If a player equips more 3 or more pieces of armor made from diamonds and nethrite, they are weight down and hit with a constant, mild slowness effect.
2. Sunlight Sweating & Dehydration
- Sweat Particles: Standing under direct, unblocked sunlight during a clear sunny day causes dripping water particles to emerge from the player's head, simulating intense sweating.
- Hydration Drain: A hydration metric tracks your water levels. Being out in the open sun drains this value constantly. This depletion happens twice as fast if you are wearing heavy armor.
3. Dehydration Penalties
Failing to maintain your hydration leads to exhaustion:
- Below 30% Hydration: The player suffers from Mining Fatigue and Slowness.
- At 0% Hydration: The player starts to feel very tired like fainting, periodic tick damage from severe heatstroke and dehydration.
4. Rehydration Methods
Players can instantly reset their hydration level back to a safe 100% by:
- Fully drinking water from a vanilla Water Bottle.
- Submerging themselves and swimming in a body of water.
5. Dynamic Solar Evaporation
The physical sun alters the world around you. When the sun is shining directly overhead:
- Water Source Blocks left exposed to the direct sky will slowly heat up and evaporate into thin air, spawning ambient smoke particles.
- Ice Blocks left uncovered will melt completely into air rather than turning into water, turning ideal minecraft environment into a a much relastic environment. Players must construct roofs or covers to protect their water supplies and irrigation.
Technical Details & Optimization
- Built For: Minecraft 1.21+
- Optimization: The mod relies on an optimized server tick loop listener (
ServerTickEvents.END_SERVER_TICK). Computations and environmental checks run once per second (tickCounter % 20), ensuring absolute zero impact on your game's FPS or server TPS performance.
