ABOUT
Sorcerous Nether is a relatively small vanilla friendly mod seeking to enhance the magical side of the Nether by expanding on vanilla concepts and mixing in new ones. Discover new plants and blocks that litter the landscape and turn them into helpful items to aid not only your Nether journeys.
This mod comes with a config file allowing for customization of many of its behaviors.
Sorcerous Nether requires Geckolib to function.

PLANTS
Bucklerine Bush

Growing among the basalt columns of the deltas, these crystalline fruits have become incredibly resistant to the harsh environment, particularly to explosions. Once harvested, bucklerine shards can be crafted into various blast-resistant blocks such as glass, doors, trapdoors and even a lamp. Subjecting the shards in their item form to an explosion causes them to sprout and turn into budding bucklerine, an item with its own range of uses. If you're not a fan of this explosive mechanic, you can turn it off in the config.
Persimmon Fungus

Taking a look over the lava lakes, you can spot the persimmon fungus, a new huge fungus type with a dark orange woodset. The extremely hot conditions have caused its stem to become immune to lava, even in item form. Bone mealing the cap yields fungi which can be planted in a pool of lava and bone mealed to obtain more huge fungi.
Lava Lily

BLOCKS
Biotite

Biotite is a dark block found in the basalt deltas. It can be crafted into its polished and brick variants and used as a building material.
Robust Chain
Crafted from two chains and an iron ingot, the robust chain is a support block that looks like it could hold up way more than its smaller counterpart. An entire structure, perhaps?
ITEMS
Budding Bucklerine

A budding variant of the bucklerine shard obtained with the use of an explosion or manually crafted by adding gunpowder. It can be planted on blocks native to the basalt deltas, producing a bucklerine bush. It can also serve as a last resort food source or be crafted with gold ingots into its golden variant, giving resistance and short regeneration. Budding bucklerine is also used to brew a new potion: the potion of blast resistance, providing protection from explosions for its duration.
Sorcerous Mist Bottle
A sorcerous mist bottle is a crafting ingredient obtained by bottling up sorcerous mist from a defeated Lost. It can be used to craft black nether bricks, mist flasks and sorcerous vessels and is needed when putting a potion into a sorcerous vessel.
Mist Flask
The mist flask is a throwable item similar to a lingering potion. Upon landing it produces a cloud of black smoke similar to the clouds of sorcerous mist. Mobs and players that come into contact with the cloud receive blindness, slowness and wither effects. The thrower, however, is unaffected by the negative effects of the cloud (this can also be configured).
Sorcerous Vessel

A sorcerous vessel is an item that can be filled up with any potion. When you fall below half of your maximum health, one of the vessels in your hotbar (or anywhere in your inventory depending on the config) automatically activates and applies its potion effect, returning an empty vessel. Filled sorcerous vessels can stack up to 16.
When Curios API is installed, sorcerous vessels can be inserted into Charm slots.
Lost Pearl
The lost pearl is an item dropped from wither wayfarers, a tough ranged wither skeleton variant. It can be thrown and leads to the nearest Lost Keep when used, similarly to an eye of ender. It can also be combined with a sorcerous mist bottle and other nether materials to create a cursed orb, a crafting ingredient.
Cursed Wand

The cursed wand is a ranged weapon which can be crafted from netherite and a cursed orb. It fires cursed charges which deal damage and apply the Cursed Grasp effect. Subsequent hits on a single target increase the Grasp's level up to a maximum of three. Once the effect expires or reaches level 3, the target is briefly stunned, unable to move or perform melee attacks. Higher Grasp levels produce a longer stun.
The wand can also be enchanted. The Patience enchantment applies Cursed Grasp for a longer time, the Withering Harvest enchantment heals the user when applying a level 3 stun and the Cascade enchantment stuns nearby entities when applying a level 3 stun. These enchantments can only be found in Campsite and Lost Keep chests.
STRUCTURES
Lost Keep

Lost Keeps can be found in the basalt deltas and nether wastes. These relatively large structures are made up of towers and bridges which hang suspended just below the Nether roof. Inside you can find lots of loot guarded by skeletons, magma cubes, rarely wither skeletons and a new mob - the lost.
Campsite

Campsites are small structures found across the Nether. They are made up of a small ruined nether brick structure with a campfire set up within. Once an ancient outpost, the ruins now serve as nothing but a temporary base of operations for a new wither skeleton variant - the wither wayfarer.
MOBS
Lost

The lost are restless, withered spirits who roam the halls and bridges of the Lost Keep. Some say they might be of similar origin as wither skeletons, as they apply the wither effect when attacking. When slain, they dissolve into thin air, leaving behind a dark cloud of sorcerous mist which causes blindness, weakness and slowness to any living mobs inside and gives a temporary speed boost to near undead mobs. The cloud can be collected using a glass bottle to obtain a sorcerous mist bottle, an ingredient for crafting.
Wither Wayfarer

Wither wayfarers are a tankier, bow-wielding variant of wither skeletons which reside near their campsites. They have a strong sense of instinct and can detect the player from further away than regular skeletons. When firing their enchanted bows, they use arrows of weakness. Should you get too close, they will instead punch you, inflicting wither. On death they drop lost pearls, which can be used to locate the Lost Keep or used as a crafting ingredient.

CONFIG DATAPACK
