I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CUSTOM RECORDS ADDED: CREDITS GOES TO HOYO-MIX, YU-PENG CHEN, HOYO-MIX, MIHOYO AND HOYOVERSE.
⚠️ Requires DCME (Dynamic Contextual Music Engine) as for 0.2b and later
Sounds of Hydro aims to add most music from the popular gacha game Genshin Impact to Minecraft. The custom soundtrack is entirely situational, changing fittingly to the biome you're walking into, creating a more nicer adventure experience akin to Genshin Impact. The resource pack replaces all Minecraft OST and aims to add over 900 tracks distributed across different contexts.
The goal is to bring Genshin's incredible music to fit Minecraft's enviroment. Because of that, some songs that would play in Genshin's context doesn't necessarily play in the equivalent Minecraft's context. A good chunk of them were repurposed to fit Minecraft's biomes the best it can with no business with the original game. There is also some songs that were deliberately not added because it didn't fit Minecraft totally, those mostly being domain BGMs, battle BGMs and so on, with few expections.
Soundtrack Regions
Those are the regions currently implemented to the pack and their overall presence in the game, though they are largely distributed between biomes:
- Mondstadt -> Plains-like, forest-like biomes; (mostly done)
- Liyue -> Badlands-like, savanna-like biomes; (working on it)
- Sumeru -> Very arid or very wet biomes (badlands, jungle); (missing)
- Dragonspine -> Snow-covered or predominantly snowy biomes; (missing)
- Inazuma -> Cherry groove and special islands; (missing)
- Fontaine -> Ocean, perhaps when travelling across it. (missing)
Recommended playstyle:
- In Genshin Impact, those tracks play when you're within entire nations that sometimes span continents. In Minecraft however, biomes are small and therefore music might change abruptly when using normal minecraft generation.
- Sounds of Hydro works great with vanilla's Large Biomes generation, Tectonic data pack as both of those provides bigger biomes or any other generation mod that increases biome size. I want to implement Terralith and other mods that adds custom biomes, but this will be worked on later when I have the base game covered.
- On DCME client configuration, it's recommended to leave between 30s and 3m as it matches the game's music cadence, assuming that you're playing with larger biomes.
- It might be rewarding to play this pack without sleeping or teleporting in the game. There's specific music that only plays during the night, rainy days, thunder nights and so on.
