Performance
Full renders are faster on Paper, and on Fabric and NeoForge with Moonrise. In our benchmark, a full render took 41.50 s instead of 64.72 s, a 1.56× speedup (Ryzen 9 5950X, 1,495,729 chunks, Minecraft 26.3). (#615, #616)
- Decode saved chunk sections directly instead of through Minecraft's codecs (#615)
- Remove lock contention when writing rendered pixels (#616)
Without Moonrise, render speed is limited by Minecraft's own chunk I/O, so these changes don't make renders faster there. For the fastest renders on Fabric and NeoForge, install Moonrise.
Changed
- Update dependencies
Fixed
- Fabric, NeoForge and Sponge without Moonrise: fix renders stalling the server thread while waiting for chunks to be read from disk, causing lag during renders. Present since squaremap 1.1.0. Render speed is unchanged
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
