The Stargate Replicators Mod Summary
The Stargate Replicators mod introduces the terrifying, self-replicating metallic bugs from the Stargate universe directly into Minecraft. Designed to be a true late-game threat, this mod features highly advanced, lore-accurate swarm AI and destructive environmental mechanics.
Here is a breakdown of the mod's core features:
Core Behaviors & Life Cycle
- Consumption & Replication: Replicators actively consume breakable blocks in the world. Once they consume enough materials, they multiply and spawn exact clones of themselves.
- Relentless Infestation: They are explicitly programmed to never despawn, meaning a swarm will persist in an area permanently until they are physically hunted down and destroyed.
- Environmental Navigation: They can climb straight up walls like spiders and can survive indefinitely underwater without drowning.
- Craftable Origins: Players can manually initiate an infestation by crafting a Replicator Spawn Egg using 8 iron ingots surrounding 1 diamond.
Swarm Intelligence & Combat
- Pack Dynamics: They naturally break off into small, roaming clusters of up to five bugs while searching for resources.
- Hive-Mind Defense: If a player attacks a single peaceful Replicator, it instantly alerts the entire nearby pack to aggressively retaliate and swarm the attacker.
- Critical Mass Aggression: If the swarm grows to 20 or more members in a localized area, they enter a highly aggressive state, actively hunting players and other mobs on sight.
- Acid Spit & Immunities: They can spit acid from a distance (applying poison) before closing in to bite. They are also entirely immune to lightning and electrical damage.
- Shatter and Rebuild: When hit by physical weapons, they shatter into their base crafting components, but if those dropped items are left alone, the "ghost" of the Replicator will consume them to rebuild itself.
Mod Compatibility & Performance
- Safe Eating Protocol: To prevent destroying servers or crashing other mods, they are hard-coded to ignore fluids, unbreakable blocks (like bedrock), and complex blocks containing data (like modded machines and chests). Server admins can also configure a custom JSON blacklist of specific blocks for them to ignore.
- Lag Prevention: The mod features tick-staggering so the bugs don't all process their heavy AI math on the exact same frame, along with a hard population cap of 60 per area to prevent exponential memory crashes.
- Multiplayer Ready: The entity logic is synced entirely server-side, making it fully functional in multiplayer environments right out of the box.
