Surveyor's Compass

Ever wished your compass could point to something other than spawn? Surveyor's Compass adds a special compass that can be configured to point toward nearby structures.

How it works

  1. Craft a Surveyor's Compass: a regular compass surrounded by 8 cobblestone.
  2. Right-click to open its configuration screen.
  3. Place a key item in the center slot to choose what it tracks.
  4. The needle will automatically point toward the nearest matching structure.
  5. You can see how to craft one in the gallery tab.

The compass remembers its configured key item even after closing the GUI or relogging, and can be reconfigured at any time by swapping the item in its slot.

Requirements

Notes

  • The compass is not stackable.
  • Placing a key item plays a small click sound and searches for the nearest matching structure around the player.
  • If no matching structure is found nearby, or the key item doesn't match anything, the needle spins freely.
