First time you join into a world you will be given your first random baby partner digimon along with a digivice, training gear and digimeat. Be careful with your baby partner as its the only thing in the starter pack which can not be replaced, it is lava and explotion proof but not lose proof ! You can get more digimon as a rare drop when your partner defeats it!
We suggest that you get shelter, plant some Digi Meat and start training your digimon with the training goods inside of the Training Bag before adveturing with your partner. Once you do, be careful as your partner has 3 lifes indicated by the color of the health (red being one left, yellow two and green three) which if lost will lead to a reset of your partner to baby form. If you indeed were not careful you can still get DigiCores to get new lifes for your digimon, but they are expensive.
Below an inlustration of how the digicore works and the drops of wild digimon.
Additionally this is where each digimon spawn by data group in your world.
The key to making your digimon grow and stay healthy is feeding it! Either food or data.
While training with your digimon, they will get hungry which will lower their moods, so it is very important to have food in hand to remedy this, as a depressed state digimon (the lowest mood a digimon can have) will lead to care mistakes which will impact in the evolutions your digimon will be able to access.
Important to note that while digimon can eat any edible item in minecraft (and data ofc), there is specific food that will better their moods much more, in particular Guilmon Bread and DigiMeat. These last one can be even growed as a crop like regular Minecraft crops.
Level up your digimon by having it defeatother digimon. Rookie evolution will happen at level 6, Champion at level 16, and ultimate at 36!
If you want to win battles to get data and evolve your digimon or even to get more digimon, you need a strong partner. Training gear will be given at first join but dont worry it can be crafted if required. Digimon get their stats up by targeting the training good and punching them, be careful though as digimon get tired and can get sad when overtrained.
Keep track of the stats of you digimon and the uses the training good has left, stats will be accessible in the gui of the digivices and v-pets and the uses the goods have left appear over it. Training goods work like tools, they break when they get overused so you will need to craft more, these are the recipes for the starter training goods.
Stats can be raised by the consuption of bytes, Stat Bytes have a small chance of being dropped by digimon(except babies).
Additonally special training goods can be crafted which not only provide a higher stat increase than the basic ones, they also have a small chance of providing data to the digimon which is training with them.
There are Digitama Nests scattered all over the world, break them to reveal a surprise!
Evolving digimon is crutial to make them stronger as they not only gain extra stats from evolution, they also get the higher stat caps and even special abilities like being rideable. This is achieved by leveling up digimon while also making sure to meet the conditions the desired evolution requires.
Reminder that digimon evolve to rookie at level 6, to champion at level 16 and ultimate at 36.
When interacting with a digimon using a v-pet or digivice, it is possible to hover over the desired evolution to check its requirements and the rank of the evo digimon.
Additionally to make sure yout meet the evolution criterias again using the digivices, navigate pressing R key to check the data your digimon has been feed and its current stats if you want too.
While you can check in game the possible evolution of digimon even wild or tamed digimon and its conditions, this image contains all the lines currently available routes so you can find how to get your favorite digimon! (Suggest to open it on a new tab)
Additionally, Black Digitron can be used to get the digitron variant of your digimon and Dark Tower shard can be used to degenerate your digimon to its previous stage, this is irreversible so think it though!
Digimon not only exist to fight and eat (some do really) they also can be assigned to work with professions. Those can't be assigned and every digimon is born already with a profession. Put a digimon you are not using or just finished training in work mode and leave it work while you go adventure. Be careful though they may get too focused on their work and wander off far from your sight if you nor prepare the working area.
