Ubi Sumus?
The goal of the mod is simple: when the player dies without a bed or on the first login the spawnpoint of that player is randomized, this should give a sort of "soft hardcore" exeperience and punish more deaths especially early on in the game. The new spawnpoint is randomized in an area of 20000 x 20000 blocks around the world's origin by default, but you can customize this in the config file or in the mod menu integration (in the newer mod versions). To be more precise the area of possible spawn points is an adjustable rectanlge centered around the world's origin, the sides are the X range and the Y range and these settings can be customized ad libitum. The configuration includes also an option to fix the spawn point after the first login. When enabled, the player will receive a randomized spawn only once, and all subsequent respawns without a bed will return the player to that same location. Every spawn point will be unique for every player.
The configuration file is automatically created after the mod’s first launch, and any changes require a full Minecraft restart to take effect in the older version of the mod. This is no longer true with the ModMenu integration in the new 1.1.2 + versions, you can change the settings in game and the effect is immediate
Natural Temperature
This mod can work well with NT. If the X range and the Y range are adjusted correctly players can randomize in which band they spawn in.
