UNCANNY: System Integrity Compromised
Last Update:
- Version: 0.1.0 – First Anomaly
- Date: 2026-01-07
- Highlights: Initial release; Implemented The Watcher entity; Added "Crash Report" mechanic; Enabled global visual glitches and hallucinations.
- Status: BETA
Uncanny is not just a creature mod. It is a manifestation of broken code. The boundary between the game and your computer screen is dissolving. Are you sure you are playing alone?
❌ The Anomalies
The world around you is degrading. Visual glitches, fake crashes, phantom players, and an entity born from a rendering error.
Detected Anomalies:
- Visual Glitches: Dead pixels on your screen, inverted controls, and corrupted UI elements.
- Paranoia: You will see chat messages from players who aren't on the server. You will hear footsteps behind you. Torches will extinguish for no reason.
- The Watcher: An entity resulting from a texture mapping error. It watches from a distance. If you get too close, your connection will be terminated.
⚠️ The Crash Report
You may find an item called the Crash Report. Using it triggers a fatal system error simulation.
- Note: The mod does NOT actually crash your game client or damage your PC.
- It simulates a crash by kicking you from the world with a realistic error message (e.g.,
FATAL ERROR: 0xC0000005).
Configuration
All features are fully configurable via the config file. You can customize the experience to be a subtle psychological horror or a nightmare.
- Enable/Disable Jumpscares
- Configure fake player names
- Adjust glitch frequency
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge)
- No external dependencies required
