I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR.
BlueNeenja/bafomdad wrote Unique Crops. This is an unofficial port to 1.20.1 that also fixes bugs and updates the guidebook. See the original mod page for more info and for earlier Minecraft versions.

Unique Crops adds 33 new farm crops with unusual growing and harvesting requirements, plus 8 multiblock Supercrops and dozens of blocks and gear.
To quote the author:
It is not another mod that adds ore crops. The main idea was to take the growth stages, and the requirements for planting, growing and harvesting a little further than what I've seen.
Growing and picking these new crops is an interesting challenge in and of itself, even before you craft your harvest into useful gear. Crops must be planted in exotic locations or collected in specific ways, like:
- Collis crops barely grow unless planted well above cloud height. Their grain makes a bread that boosts Luck.
- Petramias must be planted low, near bedrock, so they can convert it into Dark Blocks. These blocks have a number of uses, including crafting into curios that can polymorph enemies, let you eat gems for buffs, delay Creeper explosions and more.
- Dyeius crops change color around the clock and can produce any dye as long as you pick them at the right time of day. Clever players with a bit of redstone knowledge can build an alarm mechanism around a Sundial to help get the timing right.
- The Invisibilia plant can't be seen without special glasses - and if you can't see it, you can't pick it! But it makes Invisibilia Glass, which lets you walk through it while still obstructing mobs and items.
Automation from other mods is useful but not necessary (and might not even be possible unless you're quite inventive).

Supercrops
Beyond simple crops are the multiblock Supercrops that can do things like chop trees, repaint biomes, put specific Enchantments on your gear and mine an entire chunk with the power of growing wheat.
But power must be earned. Most Supercrops require you to first cultivate the uniquely daunting Feroxia, a crop with seven demanding and unpredictable growth requirements. Will it need lily pads nearby? Total darkness? A live chicken? What if it insists on being planted in the Nether? The requirements are different every world and change with every harvest.
Gear and More
- Explosively damage mobs by blocking them with the Impact Shield, or charge up your Thunder Pants and retaliate with lightning.
- Complete the Itero's memory-matching minigame to harvest ingredients for a personal teleportation device.
- Upgrade a Precision Pickaxe enough times and it can mine spawners - but first you'll need to write books for Scientia plants to read and figure out how to pick Precision crops before they mature.

Overhauled Guidebook
The in-game guidebooks have been updated to this version of the mod. Chapters on Items and Blocks that previously only existed on the official wiki have also been added so all important info is current and in one place.
Getting Started
Break grass until you find some Normie Seeds, then craft the Guide to Unique Crops and start reading! Your next task will be to craft 9 Artisia seeds and grow them in a 3x3 patch with the center last. You'll need these Artisias to craft all the other seeds in the mod.
Reporting Issues
PLEASE REPORT ALL ISSUES TO ME. Thanks.
Note on updating MC version:
If you update a 1.18.2 world that uses the official Unique Crops mod or my Precision Fork to 1.20.1 you will need to break and re-build any Dyeius plants, Invisibilia plants and invisiblia glass blocks.
Updating from remag's Sandbox Edition 1.18.2 fork isn't possible.
