Overview

Vermilion is a vanilla-friendly mod that adds Warhammers, Daggers, new mini bosses in the swamp and snow, Rubies with armor and tools, a jigsaw structure underground, New crops and mob variants.

Features

Daggers

Daggers come in all material tiers and are a fast but weak weapon, with sneaking giving bonus damage.

Dagger Dash

When right clicking, the dagger can dash the player forward in the direction they are facing, however it takes up a lot of durability. The dash strength does not change with dagger tier. Zombies and its variants can also spawn with iron daggers and can use its dash to get to the player.

Enchantments

The dagger has 2 enchantments, the first being Fleet which has 3 levels and increases the strength of the dash, however it can only be gotten in structure chests. The second is Sneak Strike which also has 3 levels and increases the damage of the sneak attack.

Ruby

Ruby Ore can be found uncommonly in any biome starting from Y25 but it does have increased spawn rates in deserts. It can also spawn in basalt deltas.

Ruby Gear Upgrading

To obtain Ruby armor/tools you must find a Ruby Smithing Template located in a few select structures. You can then apply the template alongside a ruby to any iron equipment and get the resulting ruby equivalent.

Ruby Armor and Tools

Ruby is in between iron and diamond alongside having higher enchantability. When wearing a full set of ruby armor the player can occasionally get instant health, and the effects of the ruby jewel and ruby lamp are amplified as well. However when the ruby armor grants health it uses hunger. All skeleton and zombie variants (including wither skeletons) can spawn with ruby armor and tools.

Yew Tree and Woodset

Yew trees can be found in a few humid biomes, and behave similar to other woodsets.

Structures

Snow Labyrinth

Cartographers can now sell new explorer maps one of which leads here. The snow labyrinth is a large underground structure comprised of hallways and rooms, some of which with mobs, others with puzzles. With it being randomized.

Swamp Villa

The Swamp Villa too has an explorer map and is found in either normal or mangrove swamps. On the bottom floor are witches, alongside a few chests. But these aren't the main reason you'd come here.

Woodland Estate

The Woodland estate is a large spruce structure similar to woodland mansions found in mega taigas, inside are vindicators alongside randomized rooms. On the top floor, the illusioner can spawn, with it having a new drop.

Mini-Bosses

The Thawed

The Thawed can be summoned similarly to how iron golems/the wither are summoned and it has a rage system, the higher the rage the stronger attacks it will use. Things like attacking it, touching it, it missing its projectiles ect will increase its Rage. Once killed it will drop the Frost Shard.

The Plague Witch

The plague witch spawns on the top floor in the swamp villa, once it sees the player it will start throwing potions, the lower the plague witches health gets the stronger potions it will throw. It also will spawn mobs such as witches, zombies, skeletons, silverfish and spiders. Once killed it will drop the heart of the swamp.

Boss Rewards

Warhammer

The Warhammer is crafted with a frost shard and 2 coffer, it deals aoe damage when the player crits a mob to all enemies around the critted mob.

Enchantments

The Warhammer has 2 main enchantments. The first being Rampage, this has 3 levels and will increase the damage of the Warhammer aoe for each consecutive correctly timed hit and this has no cap. The second is Shackle, this also has 3 levels and will give slowness to all entities in the aoe radius.

Famine Totem

The Famine Totem is crafted with the heart of the swamp and on its own it wont do anything, but if powered by emerald or ruby it will grow crops adjacent to it over time.

Utilities

Pouches

Pouches are small portable storage. Regular Pouches have 5 slots and Bejewelled Pouches have 12. All 3 can also be dyed.

Soul Hook

The Soul Hook is a weapon that when right-clicked will pull any nearby mobs to the player.

Miscellaneous Additions

Frostbit

The Frostbit is a zombie variant that spawns in cold biomes similar to strays upon being hit by it the player gets inflicted with weakness. When a zombie is in powder snow it converts to a Frostbit

Mushroom Fields Changes

Mycelium Sprouts can be found on the ground alongside tall brown and red mushrooms.
