Villager Awakening

Villager Awakening is a mod that enhances Vanilla villagers, adding culture, speech and personality. Now all villages feel like a living, breathing community.

✨ Key Features

Villagers (and wandering traders) now spawn with one of 6 unique personalities, and provides dynamic speech opportunities based on culture, personality and world conditions. Each culture now has a unique identity that governs most of the villager's interactions with the player.

All villagers spawn with custom names appropriate for each culture, and comment on themselves, the player, their surroundings, and generally their state.

Villagers now have a speechbank of 1000+ speech lines, following 30+ unique conditions, as well as the new personalities. They also recognise the player, themselves, and the player's preferred gender.

⚙️ Compatibility & Configuration

Speech may be displayed in custom speech bubbles, in chat, or both!

All features in this mod are fully configurable and compatible with most shader mods and modded villagers.

Note that some conditions won't work for modded villagers, but they should be able to speak nonetheless.
