Yapi: Forgotten Echoes
Items lost to time do not disappear.
They return.
Forgotten Echoes captures items that vanish in the world and stores them.
Later, these items may reappear — carried by mobs.
Every encounter becomes unpredictable:
- a zombie wielding someone’s sword
- a skeleton wearing forgotten armor
- a random mob carrying equipment once lost
The world begins to remember.
How It Works
- Items that expire naturally are captured and stored with full NBT data
- Items are separated by dimension (Overworld / Nether / End)
- When mobs spawn, they have a chance to receive a stored item
- Items receive additional durability damage before being equipped
- Once successfully assigned, the item is removed from storage
Features
- Supports armor, melee weapons, and ranged weapons
- Full preservation of item data (enchantments, custom names, durability)
- Fully configurable:
- mob whitelist
- item type rules
- spawn chance
- Dimension-based storage
- Works with modded items and modded mobs (if they can naturally hold and use items)
Important
This mod only works with mobs that can naturally hold and use items.
It does not modify mob AI and relies entirely on vanilla mechanics.
Some entities (such as Endermen) are not supported and may behave unpredictably.
Experimental Settings
Experimental mode available:
- Enables support for modded bows and crossbows
- May require additional compatibility mods
Use with caution.
Concept
This mod does not add new items.
It brings back the old ones.
Nothing is truly lost. Sometimes, it simply waits to return.
