The BoopPack
...is a modpack I made for my friend (Hi Nyx!) and myself. It's a work in progress, as I keep adding/ replacing mods that I think are cool, but uploaded versions are always functional.
My goal is to create a minecraft experience that doesn't get old, even though we have played many many many hours of this game. I focused on functionality first, making gameplay easier, smoother, more convenient and just a tad fancier. Then I discovered a number of additional content that I believe makes exploring the Minecraft world(s) more exciting again and brought back the fun in building villages. Lastly, I couldn't be missing performance mods. See: I play Minecraft on a 2014 Macbook Air... yeah. It protests loudly whenever I play with The BoopPack BUT, it works without hickups.
How can The BoopPack, with its over 100 mods, run on potato laptops like mine?
The BoopPack
- has no shaders whatsoever (I recommend adding a Dynamic-Lights-Mod for fancier visuals instead - ours is completely server-side and therefore not included in The BoopPack)
- uses as little resource packs as possible (5 animations & 1 for a cool sun & moon)
- combines the best performance mods (that I could find & that are compatible with each other)
On this note a little tip: If you discover that your potato laptop cannot handle The BoopPack, try disabling the resource packs before completely giving up. It may help by taking some load off.
A (NEARLY COMPLETE) LIST OF ITS FEATURES:
More building options
- Furniture, Walls, Fences, Roofs, Stairs, Doors, Balconies, Bridges, Lamps, Paintings, Catenaries (streamers) and you can now place fences, walls & windows diagonally
Quality of Life (mods that make playing MC functionally easier)
- Minimap and worldmap with waypoints and teleportation, more mouse-click options to manage your inventory, easier placing blocks "mid air" (no more sneaking backwards to build a bridge), pick up full chests for easier sorting of your storage room, move while your menu/inventory is open, sleep without setting a spawnpoint, leash villagers, ride through leaves on your horse, find any structure with a special compass, jump over fences (villagers still can't), chop down an entire tree & mine a complete vein of ore by breaking only one block
Game mechanics
- Finally use copper to craft tools & equipment, use a tradingpost to trade with all nearby villagers or piglins at once, craft backpacks to carry more stuff, bottle your XP, wear the totem of undying as a charm, gravestones keep your inventory safe until you come back to the location of your death, iron door keys make buttons obsolete and iron doors easier to open, find hidden treasure chests while you mine
Added content
- Immersive structures & towers, YUNG's better everything (all structures, mineshafts & bridges),
Better UI/ visuals
- Blurred backgrounds, slide-in menus, highlighted items in your inventory, outlined ores & sus sand/gravel, see how much your food will fill you up, additional indication of how broken your armor is, fancier advancement plaques and tooltips
Just for fun
- Collect player heads, stand on other player's shoulders, sit on stairs, slabs and furniture, carry your tools & weapons on your back and look really cool!
For immersiveness/ realism
- More diverse mobs, better sounds (atmosphere, footsteps, nature), realistic bees, visual workbench, WATUT (see what others are doing in their menu), 3D Skin layers, lots of new animations for players and mobs to look more lively
Optimization & Performance mods
- List will follow. Until then u can install the modpack and then check out the included mods in the instance
All credits go to the actual mod developers.
I merely threw their amazing work together to create a Minecraft experience that I like and am sharing it on modrinth in case anybody else might enjoy it.
