Frozen Horror Scape
An endless winter. A hostile wilderness. And things in the snow that you probably don't want to meet.
Frozen Horror Scape is a heavily curated Minecraft 1.20.1 Fabric modpack built around survival, exploration, atmosphere, horror, and progression in a world trapped beneath an endless winter.
Snow replaces the familiar landscape while storms, fog, immersive sound, lightning, and environmenal effects transform the world into a cold and unforgiving place. The goal isn't simply to make Minecraft harder-it's to make the world feel alive, unpredictable, beautiful, and occasionally terrifying.
Endless Winter The world has been transformed into a permanent frozen landscape. Snowfall, winter weather, storms, fog, and custom weather compatability work together to maintain the atmosphere without turning the pack into a temperature-management simulator.
Horror & Atmosphere Frozen Horror Scape favors atmospheric and supernatural horror over constant jumpscares. Strange creatures, unsettling encounters, darkness, environmental audio, and limited visibility make traveling-especially at night-something worth preparing for.
Exploration Discover expanded biomes, massive structures, redesigned dungeons, underground locations, ruins, and other points of interest throughout the world. Exploration is intended to be dangerous, rewarding, and worth leaving the safety of your base for.
Progression and Combat Expanded equipment, combat systems, RPG elements, difficult enemies, and bosses provide meaningful progression beyond ordinary vanilla survival.
Creatures and Companions The wilderness contains a much larger variety of wildlife and creatures, while expanded companion systems make the animals traveling beside you an important part of your adventure.
Camping & Life on the Road Venturing far from home no longer means choosing between traveling through the night or permanently changing your spawn point. Frozen Horror Scape expands camping and wilderness survival with portable shelters, grills, sleeping gear, and other tools for establishing temporary camps while exploring.
Sleep beneath the stars without resetting your spawn point using sleeping bags, allowing you to rest during long expeditions while keeping your true home as the place you'll return after death.
Whether you're crossing a frozen wilderness, sheltering from a storm, or setting up camp before exploring a distant ruin, traveling is meant to feel like an expedition-not a sprint back to your bed. Set up a tent to create a home away from home.
Carts and Overland Travel Long expeditions require more than whatever you can carry on your back. Frozen Horror Scape expands overland travel with horse-drawn carts and mobile storage, allowing you to bring supplies, equipment, and loot along on longer journeys through the frozen wilderness.
Load up your cart, hitch your horse (or polar bear), and establish temporary camps as you travel farther from home. Whether you're gathering resources. hauling treasure back from distant ruins, or setting out on a multi-day expedition, your horse and cart become a more important part of surviving life on the road.
Combined with the pack's camping system, exploartion becomes a journey you can actually prepare for-not just an inventory-management problem.
Build Somewhere Worth Surviving For Frozen Horror Scape includes exstensive building, furniture, decoration, and immersion content so your base can become a genuinely cozy refuge from the world outside.
Immersive Audio & Visuals The pack combines shaders, environmental effects, fog, sound physics, atmospheric music and audio, and carefully configured visual enhanements to create a cohesive experience rather than simply a collection of mods.
Multiplayer Frozen Horror Scape is designed with multiplayer in mind. Explore, build, fight, and survive the endless winter together.
Frozen Horror Scape is actively maintained. Balance, configurations, progression, compatability, and included content may continue to evolve with future updates.
IMPORTANT-RECIPE UNLOCK REQUIRED
Some armor, weapons, and weapon add-ons used in Frozen Horror Scape will not automatically appear in the recipe book.
Server owners/operators should unlock recipes for players using: /recipe give @a *
Run this command after players have joined the server. This unlocks the available crafting recipes for everyone and allows the modded armor, weapons, and add-ons to appear in their recipe books.
This does not give players the items or materials- it only unlocks the recipes.
IMPORTANT-PSYCHOSIS DETECTOR
Something In The Night's Psychosis Detector must be equipped in the Face slot provided by the Accessories mod. Simply holding the detector in your hand will not activate it.
Open the Accessories inventory (check key binds for the assigned key), equip the Psychosis Detector in the Face slot, and the psychosis meter will apear on the right side of your screen.
The meter displays your current mental state and can be used to monitor psychosis as it changes.
Tip: Carrying a light source, such as a torch, can help protect you from the effects of darkness.

Frozen Horror Scape: modpack concept, curation, configuration, and balancing done by Stormie615.
AI The tempest-lightning-compat mod was developed with assistance of generative AI. AI was used to generate and troubleshoot the mod's code, with implementation, testing, configuration, and integration performed by Stormie615.
The custom tempest-lightning-compat mod was created specifically for Frozen Horror Scape to integrate the pack's winter weather systems. It allows Tempest/Tempestra's lightning system to function properly in the permanently snow-covered world while perserving varying storm intensity based on Tempest/Tempestra's own weather system. It also provides compatability between Tempest and Simply Tents, allowing tents to function as true weather shelters by preventing snow accumulation and lightning strikes inside them while allowing weather outside the tents to behave normally.
