1.20.4 backport and some more config cleanup.
- backported all of pack version 0.5.x to mc1.20.4, not sure how long i'll support it but it'll probably be for a while (maybe until sometime during mc1.21.x?)
- config cleanup, removed more unnecessary things
- replaced more culling with cull less leaves, see Adrenaline 1.21.1 changelog for more information on why
what's changed
a lot more backend organizational improvements with this update, along with heavily debloating the options.txt file (~250 lines now down to ~14 lines) and some removals of mods that aren't needed
- updated all mods
- should also fix e4mc not working
- cleanup up the
options.txt
file. used to be ~250 lines, now 14 lines large- this also fixes the
fovEffectScale
issue where the value was set to0.0
on accident - fixes PACP not being enabled by default
- if you want these changes, keep in mind that if it's not a new pack installation you must delete the current
options.txt
file in your installation since it won't reset to pack default automatically
- this also fixes the
- removed a few mods that aren't needed, too unstable/experimental, or cause other issues
- paginatedadvancements: not necessary in this pack, does nothing and only serves as bloat
- servercore: can break vanilla parity and is only viable on servers
- faster-random: can break vanilla parity and is a very niche micro-optimization
- alternate-current: breaks vanilla parity with redstone, pretty niche optimization
- c2me: experimental, causes issues with Legacy4J and improvements can highly vary depending on hardware configuration. you may want to add this back to your instance if you're okay with it
- re-organized backend for multi-loader support later
- changed current pack dir to it's own version dir
- added SkywardMC's
justfile
for batch operations

another maintainer
heyy im Devin and I'll be helping out with maintaining Re-Console when omoso cant. I've maintained popular modpacks Adrenaline and Additive for two years, so i have quite a lot of experience making decisions and working with these types of projects :)
so far I've done a lot of backend cleanup to the modpack so it should be easier for us to update to new versions and manage the pack in general. i've also removed some unnecessary stuff and tweaked some settings to hopefully improve stability and performance. more should be hopefully coming later
for the nerdy few: basically what i've done is debloat the modpack by removing all unchanged config files so that it's easier to view exactly what Re-Console changes and easier for us to manage. it also means that your configs for mods that are unchanged by Re-Console won't be reset whenever you update the modpack through your launcher. i've also converted the contents in the git repo to a packwiz project so that the modpack can be easily contributed to and managed
what's changed
this release generally just contains a lot of cleanup and some performance improvements. i plan on improving more stuff later
- updated all mods
- removed unnecessary bloat config files that don't do anything
- improved performance through some config tweaks
- removed Not Enough Crashes as it can cause major issues for users if they go back to title screen
- removed Icterine as it's an extremely niche optimization that will only slightly benefit in huge modpacks
- replaced Borderless Mining with Cubes without Borders as it's a much more simple and user-friendly mod. not enabled by default for performance reasons, but you can enable it by going to
Mods>Minecraft>Video Settings
