Minecraft Forever envisions a version of Minecraft that put more emphasis on player and world progression, while leaving the creative aspects to the players' imagination.
Many aspects of even vanilla mechanics have been properly integrated into the game to serve a mechanical purpose. One example is that you can right click on logs with an axe to turn them into "chopped logs" which are exclusively used in certain recipes, finally giving that mechanic a reason to exist. Chopped logs can then be used to make a campfire, which is now integrated into the early progression as your first method of smelting items.

Before you can obtain a furnace, campfire is used to smelt iron and copper ores. When smelted in the campfire, ores only yield nuggets. After obtaining 18 iron nuggets you can craft them into 2 iron ingots, which are used in the new crafting recipe for furnace.

A new mechanic is drying. Animals now drop hide, which have to be prepared with sugar, then left on a drying rack to get leather. Leather is extremely useful in the modpack, and to compensate for this need many new ways to obtain leather have been introduced. You can discover them all in the modpack with the recipe book menu. Many new accessories have been added into the game, which can be found in chests and crates, and worn in any of the new accessory slots above the offhand slot. (You can see some of them in the gallery.)

After obtaining a diamond and enough iron, you can create the smelter. It smelts ingot into alloys, and alloys back into ingots. Alloys can be combined with other alloys and dusts to create new metals with special abilities and enchantments.
There's a lot more new stuff in the modpack, like spells, a leveling system, enchanted emeralds, pigmen and helper sheep maids, but I'll leave you to discover them on your own. Hope you have fun with Minecraft Forever!!!
Note: Minecraft Forever has 2 important optional mods to consider.
- The first one is True Darkness, this is what I play the modpack with, and would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a challenge and a dark atmosphere at night, and in caves. It makes torches mandatory for visibility.
- The second is QDAA. It's a basic anti-aliasing mod that makes Minecraft a little less jagged around the edges. Made optional for obvious reasons.
Spoiler
I began creating this modpack a few months ago after playing a bunch of beta and alpha themed mods and modpacks, my favorite was Reminiscence by BBali (I'd strongly recommend you to try it out!) and after making a addon for it with the help of Mlodziak named "Alloy Smeltery" I found myself working on a modpack based on that addon. Over time that modpack grew into something much bigger, and became what you see here right now. I hope you enjoy!
PS: There are no furniture mods in this modpack. The furnitures you see in the gallery are not new blocks, I built them with the chisel, and you can also build whatever structures or furnitures you want with the chisel tools.
Known Issues:
- Silk Touch is inconsistent with some ore blocks.
- Loot tables aren't perfect, you might come across the rare but occassional "disabled" items.
- Multiplayer has not been tested.
