Details
The MonsoonCraft Vanilla+ Survival modpack aims to tackle some key areas of Minecraft that have room for improvement.
The intention behind this modpack is that it will only include mods which are likely to be updated, or where it wouldn't be catastrophic to remove them, meaning the same world can be played on and brought forward as Minecraft itself updates.
Performance
The pack includes many performance improving mods, not only aimed at improving your FPS, but also improving the logical performance of the game, to ensure your client and server-side experiences are as smooth as possible.
Key mods
- Enhanced Block Entities: To help with lag caused by things like chests
- Lithium: For many logical performance improvements
- Sodium: For huge FPS and smoothness improvements
- Starlight: For what is now a slight increase in the performance of the lighting engine
Adventure
With many new structure and biomes to explore, and more rewards for exploring, it's a better time than ever to get out into the wild and see what's out there.
Key mods
- YUNG's Better: Desert Temples, Jungle Temples, Mineshafts, Ocean Monuments, Strongholds, and Extras: This makes a huge difference to these structures and freshens up the whole experience of exploring these key landmarks
- Terralith: Introduces many new biomes and points of interest, perhaps providing the perfect place for your to build your new base
- Nullscape: Staying true to the desolate nature of The End, but making the terrain a little more interesting, and adding some new biomes and new ways to gather resources
Ambience
A splash of extra realism with sound goes a long way, and playing with shaders can immerse you into your world even more.
Key mods
- Ambient Sounds: Giving each biome appropriate background noise
- Iris Shaders: The extremely popular shaders mod! If your computer can handle it, it can add a lot of extra ambience to a world
- Presence Footsteps: A fantastic mod that is surprisingly detailed, you hear your footsteps very often in this game, and this makes them much more immersive and realistic
- Sound Physics Remastered: Adding that extra bit of realism to sound. Hearing a distant Zombie in a cave can now be quite a scary experience...
Quality of Life
Small tweaks to gameplay to take out a little bit of the tedium, and provide some extra utility - but nothing game-breaking.
Key mods
- Appleskin, Detail Armor Bar and Stylish Effects: To enhance the UI for extra clarity
- Inventory Profiles Next: Adding many extra features for inventory management, including item sorting
- Resourcify: To fetch resource and shader packs without leaving the game
- Smart Villagers Follow Emeralds: To make positioning Villagers significantly easier
- Trade Cycling: To quicky get villagers set up with the desired trades
- Xaero's Minimap and World Map: For easier navigation, and waypoints
- Zoomify: Smooth and configurable zooming
- ...and many more, too many to list
Build Variety
This modpack contains many new blocks, but the intention is for them to all feel "right". Everything should fit in with the Vanilla experience, just with more options and variety available!
Key mods
- Decorative Blocks: Many small additions that just make sense, with beautiful textures
- Enchanted Vertical Slabs: Adding that missing piece, Mojang will add an auto-crafter, but not vertical slabs!?
- Supplementaries: More extra decorative and functional blocks
- Twigs: Another mod that adds a few small Vanilla+ blocks
- Variant Barrels, Bookshelves, Chests, and Chiseled Bookshelves: To actually allow these functional blocks to fit in with your builds
Enjoy!
