Renovated II
The name Renovated reflects the goal of my pack: to take Minecraft's existing solid foundation and thoughtfully rebuild, refine, and expand upon it.
Minecraft remains at the forefront. I want to preserve what makes Minecraft feel like Minecraft, but I'm not afraid to make significant changes when they improve upon those foundations.
Renovated II isn't just about adding more mods. Existing, fundamental systems are reworked, common pain points are addressed, and new content is added with purpose. That can mean anything from fixing inventory limitations and reworking progression to adding new caves, dungeons, tools, armor, biomes, and expanding all three dimensions, most definitely including The End.
While developing, these are a few guides and philosopies that helped me develop the pack
- Renovate, don't just expand. Change existing systems where I see it can be improved.
- Fix pain points. Improve frustrating or useless feeling systems rather than accepting them as they are.
- Add with purpose. New content should create meaningful gameplay, not simply make the mod list bigger.
- Reward active gameplay. Reduce grinding, AFK farms, and repetitive gameplay loops.
- Make difficulty meaningful. Mobs become more capable and intelligent, not just damage sponges.
- Keep Minecraft, Minecraft Big changes are allowed when they build upon what makes Minecraft great.
- Guide the player. Players shouldn't need to look up out of game what is different and how something works. Quests, tooltips, and in-game text explain altered mechanics and help guide player progression.
- Balance visuals and performance. Improve the experience without sacrificing playability.
If that interests you and want to know more, here are some detailed changes and additions in this pack.
World & Exploration
Expanded caves, dungeons, structures, ores, and biomes across all three dimensions.
Progression
A reworked tool and armor progression system with additional tiers, meaningful upgrades, and new materials.
Combat
Reworked combat and more capable mobs that use their environment and new tactics rather than simply having inflated stats.
Enchanting
A completely reworked, material-based enchanting system with new enchantments and a more deliberate progression.
Building
Expanded building tools and mechanics for faster, more flexible construction. Transportation — Improved minecarts and horses, alongside alternative methods of late-game transportation.
Villages & Civilization
Expanded village experiences through Millénaire. This is a classic mod that makes the world feel lived in and like you have an actual big part in it. Also, because I just love this mod.
Inventory & Storage
ways to expand your inventory, backpacks, bundles, and scalable storage options to address one of Minecraft's biggest long-lasting issues.
Quality of Life
A large collection of smaller improvements, visual enhancements, and tweaks designed to make Minecraft smoother while staying true to the Minecraft identity.
Performance
Visual improvements are balanced against performance, with an emphasis on making the pack look better without causing massive lag. This is something I will continue to work on, and if you have any problem with problems, feel free to reach out to me.
Guided Progression
Quests, tooltips, and in-game information explain Renovated's custom mechanics so players aren't left wondering why something doesn't work like the vanilla game and quit the pack.
