Setup 💻
Welcome to Ridiculously Difficult Minecraft!
To begin playing, make sure you have your game and world set up as follows:
- A minimum of 4GB of allocated memory is recommended.
- For the authentic experience, create your world with the AMPLIFIED world type and on Hard difficulty. Special integration has been added to allow an extra challenge to AMPLIFIED worlds.
- Hardcore is NOT recommended. If you're up for the challenge, you're welcome to play on hardcore by all means, but doing so will probably be an exceptionally agonizing and downright inhumane experience.
For Servers
This is as easy as setting up any other Fabric server - if you're not sure on how to create a Fabric server, simply follow one of the many tutorials online. Of course, once you have one set up, make sure to copy the mods from the modpack into the server's mods folder and the config files from the modpack into the server's config folder.
The Threat ⚔️
What makes this modpack so difficult?
Impediments
Here are some of the challenges you will face.
- Blocks are no longer guaranteed to drop. Your tools will need the Fortune (any level works) or Silk Touch enchantment for guaranteed drops.
- All hostile mobs now deal magnitudes more damage.
- Many mobs will spawn with various high-amplifier effects.
- Rarely, a mob can spawn with extra buffs, some of which making them nearly impossible to kill even in the late game. You will need the absolute most powerful gear to slay one of these, though you will be rewarded handsomely.
- Mobs can now break blocks in your world to reach you.
- Mobs now have a variety of new and mob-specific abilities, making them unpredictable and more versatile.
- Mobs will become dramatically stronger as you continue to play in your world.
- You can be struck by lightning at any time of the day.
- Thunderstorms are now hilariously dangerous. Living in/by villages or other flammable structures is not recommended.
- You will now need special eyes to fill end portal frames. There are sixteen special eyes in total, however only twelve are needed to light the portal. Despite this, Eyes of Ender can still naturally appear in end portal frames, meaning you may not need twelve special eyes in total. For more information, look into End Remastered.
- Unlit areas are now inherently dangerous.
- Many, many other additions.
Favors
To make this modpack worth playing, certain adjustments have been made to ensure the modpack is not strictly punishing.
- Netherite can now be upgraded further via a new set of netherite smithing templates.
- Players now have various new skills that can be upgraded in the survival inventory.
- Weapons and armor can now be leveled-up simply by using them.
- Tools and armor now have a chance to gain certain stat increases or decreases, called reforges. Reforges can be rerolled using hammers, which are purchased from high-level armorsmith, toolsmith, and weaponsmith villagers.
- A massive selection of equippable accessories have been added for extra stat bonuses! The list of accessories is available here. Side note: To equip these, hover over the pants slot in your survival inventory and two slots for accessories will appear.
- Heart Crystals can now be crafted for extra maximum HP. Heart Crystal Shards can be found in chests in naturally generating structures.
- Veins of ores can be mined all at once by crouching while mining one of the ore blocks. To unlock this feature, however, you will need at the minimum a Diamond Pickaxe.
- Enchanted Golden Apples are craftable once more.
- Several other tweaks you may discover on your journey!
This modpack is in a very early alpha stage. Bugs are expected.
