Pack A – Kitchen sink modpack
⚠️ FREQUENTLY REFER TO THE MINECRAFT ADVANCEMENT SCREEN FOR A GUIDE ON WHAT TO DO NEXT
Overview
Pack A is a progression‑focused kitchen‑sink modpack with a whopping 498 mods (give or take a few) built for immersive adventuring and replayability. It blends exploration, multiple skill systems (including SimpleSkills), and carefully tuned world generation with a tiered resource path that starts at wood and climbs through stone, copper, iron, and beyond. The result is a cohesive sandbox where every decision carries weight and every milestone feels earned.
The playstyle intended is hardcore with raids and health regen disabled (campfires are your friend) and Ironman mode enabled in the simpleskills mod.
- Keep track of...EVERYTHING with the included companion mod, Completionist's Index
- Carry all the things using Metal Bundles and Traveler's Backpacks
- Introduce storage inception with Storage Drawers, Extended Drawers, and Tom's Simple Storage Mod
- Maintain your health with Tough as Nails (environmental factors) and a plethora of food-related mods
- Go nuts with automation using Rituals, Energized Power, and Create!
- Decorate until you forget what you were doing, again with too many decoration mods to list here 😹
- If you find a road and some lamps, follow it. Villages are often interconnected by pathways, even if it means several kilometers of travel thanks to RoadArchitect
If you cannot find what you need, try exploring; you might just find a village with all of the facilities you desire!

Core features
Skill systems
-
Multiple trees: Branching skill lines for combat, crafting, gathering, exploration, and utility.
-
Meaningful choices: Some skills provide direct boons (efficiency, survivability); others unlock mechanics or subtle advantages.
-
Balanced design: No single path dominates; progression encourages specialization without forcing a meta.
Terrain and structures
-
Immersive landscapes: Diverse biomes, jagged mountain ranges, intricate cave networks, and scenic vistas.
-
Organic discovery: Villages, ruins, dungeons, and unique structures appear naturally across the world.
-
Adventure hooks: Exploration rewards lore, loot, and challenges that evolve as your skills and gear improve.
-
Serene Seasons and some other mods to pair with it for more slow-paced gameplay (6-hour day and night cycle each = 1/2 real-time speed)
Tiered progression
-
Early game: Begin with wood tools and primitive crafting to establish your footing.
-
Mid tiers: Advance through stone and copper to unlock sturdier tools, recipes, and new skill thresholds.
-
Iron and beyond: Iron opens durable gear and deeper systems, paving the way to advanced materials and specializations.
-
Earned advancement: Each tier introduces mechanics and constraints that make progress deliberate and satisfying.
Kitchen sink philosophy
No questing other than what mods provide internally.
-
Builders: Decorative blocks, architectural tools, and systems that reward creativity and planning.
-
Adventurers: Combat enhancements, varied mobs, and expanded loot tables to keep encounters fresh.
-
Explorers: Map integration, waypoints, ambient storytelling, and world secrets to uncover.
-
Technical players: Automation options, resource management, and complex crafting for late‑game mastery.
Balance and integration
-
Curated configs: Cross‑mod interactions are tuned to prevent progression skips or unintended exploits (slowly-expanding/updating as play-testing continues).
-
Aligned unlocks: Skill thresholds match resource tiers so your growth feels natural and interconnected.
-
Calibrated generation: Structure density and loot pacing enhance exploration without overwhelming the early game.
-
Cohesive loop: Systems reinforce each other—skills, resources, and world discovery form a continuous, rewarding cycle.
The journey
From chopping your first tree to spelunking copper veins, from skirmishes with early mobs to iron‑clad expeditions into ancient ruins, Pack A emphasizes patient progression, immersion, and player choice. Whether you pursue mastery in combat, refine your craft, or chart the far horizons, the experience is tuned to be challenging, fair, and endlessly replayable. Pack A is more than a list of mods—it’s a carefully assembled world where your path is yours to define.
