VoxelBoost
I made VoxelBoost because I wanted Minecraft to run better without turning it into a completely different game.
The pack mainly focuses on performance, faster chunk and world generation, and long-distance rendering with Voxy. The Experience version also adds some of the mods I personally like using: better sounds, animations, QoL features and a few visual/worldgen improvements.
VoxelBoost isn't specifically made for potato PCs. The idea is just to get a smoother Minecraft experience on as many PCs as possible.
⚠️ Java 25 is required
VoxelBoost currently uses C2ME modules that require Java 25 or newer.
If Modrinth tries to launch the pack with Java 21:
Open Modrinth settings. Go to the Java section. Find Java 25 and copy its path. Open the settings for your VoxelBoost instance. Go to Sync & Overrides. Find the Java option and enable the override. Paste the Java 25 path there. Save and launch the pack again.
If the crash still mentions Java 21, Modrinth is probably still using the old Java path.
Recommended shader
For Voxy, I recommend Eclipse Shader with Voxy support.
The Voxy-compatible fork I found is specifically described as an Eclipse/Bliss shader edit with working Voxy support.

The shader is not included in VoxelBoost and has to be downloaded separately.
VoxelBoost Experience — Recommended
This is the version I mainly use and the one I'd recommend first.
It has the full performance setup, plus some extra mods that I think make Minecraft nicer to play:
Performance improvements Faster chunk generation and pre-generation Voxy long-distance rendering Better sounds and ambience Improved animations QoL mods UI and visual improvements Some worldgen improvements
I'm not trying to completely remake Minecraft with this version. I just want it to feel smoother and a bit more polished.
VoxelBoost Essential
Essential removes most of the extra experience mods and keeps the main performance setup.
It focuses on:
FPS and rendering performance Faster world generation Faster chunk pre-generation Lower simulation/rendering overhead Voxy long-distance rendering
Pick Experience if you want the pack as I designed it.
Pick Essential if you mainly want the performance mods and prefer adding the rest yourself.
Experience = my full setup
Essential = performance + Voxy + the basics
