It can be a challenge to survive here, but give it a try. The first thing you'll need is a roof over your head. Find a shelter or build one yourself, and make it quick, because the cold doesn't wait. Don't just throw up four walls either, insulate what you can, since a drafty shack won't do much good once the storms roll in.
Animals are rare, so if you spot one, don't waste the chance, you'll need a lot of luck to find more. If you manage to catch a few, keep them close and feed them, they're worth more alive than as a one-time meal.
You'll have to face the bitter cold. To warm up set up a fire in a cave or any other structure you can find, and keep it burning as long as you can. Warm clothes help too, so don't ignore anything that holds heat, even if it looks rotten.
Build up your gear bit by bit, stay close to the fire when you can, and don't go too far without a plan to get back. The cold isn't the only thing you'll need to watch out for, so keep your eyes open and don't get too comfortable.
Good luck and have fun.
