Lightweight Server Advertisement Protection for Minecraft

AntiAdvertising is a server-side plugin designed to help SMP servers reduce unwanted server advertisements, invite links, IP addresses, and suspicious promotional messages. Configure its detection options, whitelist trusted entries, and choose how detected advertisements should be handled.

Administrative permissions default to server operators. Bypass and debug permissions are not granted by default.

Installation

  1. Download the plugin JAR.
  2. Place it in your server's "plugins" folder.
  3. Start or restart the server.
  4. Edit the generated configuration files in "plugins/AntiAdvertising/".
  5. Configure detection options, trusted entries, and the action to take when advertising is detected.

Compatibility

  • Primary platform: Paper
  • Purpur: Potentially compatible, but not independently tested
  • Spigot / Bukkit: Not advertised as supported
  • Folia: Not verified

The plugin metadata targets the Minecraft 1.21 API line. Compatibility with specific server versions should be verified before deployment.

Important Notes

Detection depends on the configured options and supported patterns. No advertisement filter can guarantee detection of every link, address, or obfuscated message. Test the configuration on your server before relying on it for moderation.
