2.1 was ready much sooner than expected, if problems do arise you know where to go.
Features
- New automatic updater! Tired of following projects and checking Modrinth frequently to ensure the plugins on your server are at their best? ColorfulChat will now inform you via the console upon start-up if new versions are available. This is designed to be helpful not annoying so if it bothers you turn it off in the config!
- Menu system change, SimpAPI was a stop-gap solution and I am excited to announce that version 2.1 switches to an all-new manager that should be way better!
Wow look I updated it, hopefully, I keep doing this. Doesn't change much, fixes some issues, some things that were bothering me, etc.
Changes
- Bumped Spigot API from 1.20.1 to 1.20.6
- Error handling for 1 edge case
Future Plans
I intend to do 2.1 this summer, mainly focused on getting rid of SimpAPI as I knew from day one it would be a mess.
Version Support
Like always, no reason why this should not work on 1.16+ but 1.19 and 1.20 are the only ones tested.
When I first released Colorful Chat I did not expect to update it, it is a relatively small plugin and frankly, I did not see any need to add features to it. However, while testing 1.20.1 support I decided it was time to improve the plugin.
Changes
- Users can now include arguments in the
/cc
command, providing a color directly will now set that color (example:/cc pink
). - Codebase re-write, not really something anyone will notice but it was changed.
- Tying into the above I also switched our menus over to SimpAPI to make some improvements.
- Actually made the GitHub repo public, now it is actually open source and users can use the issue tracker there.
- And more... A lot has changed as, again, I re-did most of the plugin
Issues
Re-works unfortunately mean lots and lots of bugs, for that reason please use the issue tracker on GitHub or our Discord server.
Version support
This plugin is tested on 1.20 and 1.19 however it is likely that we will support your version 1.16+ so give it a try and if it does work we would love to hear :).
Some QOL changes, modern features, and some backend changes to fix my spaghetti code for you here today. While v1.1 was technically released on Monday on select platforms I felt it was a bit rushed out and decided to retract it and fix some of the stuff up for y'all. I appreciate all of you who have downloaded my resource and I appreciate all of you who stuck through even with the bugs.
###⚒️Bug Fixes
- Big one fixing chat formatting codes not working properly, now anyone with the permission can now use it properly.
