An AI-assisted horror encounter for Minecraft servers. Eidolon adds a stalking entity that reacts to player activity, uses contextual dialogue, and creates horror events through movement, sounds, visual effects, and environmental interactions.

The plugin is designed to make encounters feel less predictable while keeping the experience within Minecraft's normal gameplay.

AI-Assisted Context and Dialogue

Eidolon can use information about the player's current situation to generate contextual interactions and dialogue.

Depending on the encounter, it can take factors such as player activity and previous interactions into account when generating its responses.

Dialogue is intentionally short and cryptic to fit the horror theme.

Stalking Entity

Eidolon uses the Citizens API to create its physical NPC.

The entity can stalk players and approach them during encounters. Its movement can depend on whether the player is looking toward it. Players may briefly see the entity before it disappears or triggers an encounter. Getting too close to Eidolon can trigger additional effects or damage.

Horror and Environmental Effects

Eidolon can use several effects to create unsettling encounters, including:

Visual encounters: The entity can appear in unexpected locations or at a distance from the player. Reflection effects: Certain interactions can display Eidolon in the player's inventory/reflection interface. Movement effects: Some events can pull or move the player toward a designated location. Mimic encounters: Eidolon can use different appearances for certain encounters, depending on the configured behavior. Lighting effects: Torches and other light sources may be affected during specific events.

These effects are intended to create unpredictable horror encounters rather than permanently change the player's world.

Your server must have:

Citizens 2 — required for Eidolon's NPC/entity. PaperMC 1.21.1+ Purpur and Folia may also be supported.

What to Expect

Eidolon is designed around short, unpredictable horror encounters rather than a traditional combat-focused mob.
