Introduction

GTL XRayDetect is an X-Ray detection plugin designed for small servers with around 20 or fewer members. It uses resource-intensive methods to track ore positions around players and determines whether a player is X-Raying using multiple detection systems.

Known Cheat Engine Defenses:

• XRay: All cheat engines and resource packs
• NoFall Detect: Meteor, Wurst
• AntiKnockback Detect: Wurst
• Reach Detect: Wurst
• KillAura Detect: Wurst
• Velocity Detect: Meteor (minor bugs), Wurst

The plugin can auto-kick/ban players, requiring no staff intervention. This system can be disabled in the configuration for servers with moderate to high staff presence.

GTL XRayDetect Features

XRay Detection

XRay Detection is the core feature of GTL XRayDetect. The system is highly configurable, allowing server owners to tweak detection methods to match their server's needs.

Progressive Bans (added in v1.3): Players’ ban lengths increase with repeated offenses. For example:

• 1st ban: 2 hours
• 2nd ban: 6 hours
• 5th ban: 2 weeks

XRay Detection is continuously updated to fix bugs and loopholes. A failure in this primary feature can affect the plugin's overall effectiveness.

Decoy Veins

To ensure accurate detection, decoy ore veins spawn around suspected players. Mining these decoys adds significant suspicion points.

Decoy veins always spawn buried. If a decoy is accidentally visible from a cave, it is replaced with the original block.

Grand Ban Finale

When a player reaches level 5 suspicion, all nearby ores are replaced with air, confusing the player. They are then issued a ban title and banned. This system can be customized or disabled via configuration.

Hallucinations (Horror Mode)

Introduced later in the plugin, Hallucinations include:

• Fake Mobs: Appear in waves, stare at the player, and disappear.
• Fake Sounds: Play ambient noises or simulate approaching footsteps, creating tension.

Additional hallucinations are in development.

Bot-Mining Detection

Added in v1.3, this feature evaluates player movement patterns to detect automated mining. The system can:

• Kick players up to 5 times (accounting for auto-reconnect)
• Temporarily ban on the 6th detection

No-Fall Detection

Also added in v1.3, this detects hack-clients that prevent fall damage. GTL XRayDetect:

• Alerts the player
• Doubles the intended fall damage
• Bans players after 5 warnings via a separate progressive ban configuration

Q&A

What does GTL XRayDetect do?

GTL XRayDetect monitors and moderates X-Ray behavior, raising player scores as suspicious activity is detected. Buried decoy ores alert staff when mined. The plugin is highly configurable, ideal for servers with limited moderation.

Is GTL XRayDetect suitable for my server?

This plugin is designed for small servers. While it is resource-intensive, it has very few false positives. Efforts are ongoing to optimize resource usage without compromising detection quality. A future version for larger servers (50–200 players) may be released, though with slightly reduced effectiveness for performance.

New Plugin Coming Soon (IMPORTANT)

GTL XRayDetect began as a simple XRay detection tool but evolved into a full anti-cheat and player monitoring system. Updates will stop on December 24th.

The new plugin to replace GTL XRayDetect is OreEye AntiCheat (or OreEye). This new plugin will be built customizable from the start and feature an open-source license for developers to build onto. This new system will be far stronger than the current GTL XRayDetect and will bring so much more to the users!

Plugin Developer Info

OreEye will provide:

• Public listener info – safely accessible to other plugins
• All tracked player data – accessible for legitimate plugin use
• Real-time cheat analysis – securely share detection results
• Extensible system for add-ons – plugin developers can create compatible modules that integrate directly with OreEye, allowing them to add new detection types or override existing ones.

Currently, GTL XRayDetect does not provide these features. OreEye is the modern, flexible replacement.

In Development Features

AntiKnockback Detector

Uses velocity algorithms to determine expected knockback after hits. Admins can configure warning thresholds and auto-kick/ban rules.

Velocity Detector

Analyzes player movement in response to server physics for advanced cheat detection.

Reach Detector

Calculates if a player hits beyond normal Minecraft range. Fully configurable for warnings, kicks, and bans.

KillAura Detector

Detects one-hit or auto-aim cheats. GTL XRayDetect introduces it as a beta feature due to its complexity and common programming errors.
