**HUDEngine** — plugin for Minecraft 1.21.4+ that enables Paper and Folia server owners to create modern HUD interfaces without requiring players to install client-side mods. Players only need to download the resource pack generated by the plugin and sent by the server. ![StarterHUD](https://cdn.modrinth.com/data/cached_images/89fb2e6475949db1bf7668f46cb8c46f67a5f5a0.png) **Plugin Features** - **One resource pack for all supported versions.** Clients from Minecraft 1.21.4—26.2 automatically use the appropriate assets. - **Easy to use.** Minimal folder structure and required configuration. All setup instructions are covered in the documentation, while the open-source code provides additional implementation details. - **Optimized performance.** HUDs are rebuilt only for players who have them enabled. Rendering is cached on two levels, and if nothing has changed, no packet is sent at all. - **Configuration errors are explained, not hidden.** The plugin identifies the exact file and configuration element causing the issue, and even suggests corrections for typos. - **Vanilla HUD hiding.** Optionally hide vanilla interface elements such as health, hunger, armor, level, experience bar, hotbar, and more. - **Built-in placeholder and condition engine.** The plugin can display built-in values such as health and hunger without external dependencies, while the condition system allows tracking various player states. - **Open API.** Full control over HUD functionality from your own plugins. Particularly useful for the compass system, including personal markers, nearby player indicators, quest objectives, and more. - **Advanced compass.** The compass not only displays direction but also supports markers, both static (configured in files) and dynamic (managed through the API). - **Compatible with BetterHud configurations.** Migration is as simple as copying the configuration folder (except for popups and animation), while HUDEngine-specific features can be added on top as needed. - **Small resource pack size.** The generated ZIP archive is approximately 230 KB by default, minimizing download times for players. Even large HUD setups are unlikely to exceed 1 MB. - **Built-in resource pack hosting.** Serve the generated resource pack directly from the game server without requiring a separate web server. The download message and whether players are kicked for declining the pack are fully configurable. Detailed information about the plugin, including the API-developer, source code and guide, is available on the project's GitHub page via the links on the right.

### Compatibility and Dependencies Paper/Folia 1.21.4–26.2 (Java 21–25). The plugin has no required external dependencies and can run on a clean server installation. PlaceholderAPI is supported for displaying custom placeholders without requiring API integration. Compatibility with BetterHud (by toxicity188) is maintained, making migration from existing BetterHud configurations straightforward.
