Ping Compensation
If your players are complaining about "fake hits" or terrible hit registration, latency is usually the problem. Because the server is the ultimate authority, it will often reject melee hits from players with high ping if the target has already moved.
Ping Compensation is a server-side Paper plugin that fixes this by using backwards ray-tracing.
Whenever a player attacks, the plugin intercepts the packet, checks the player's exact ping, and "rewinds time". It looks at where the enemy's hitbox was on the lagging player's screen at the exact moment they clicked. If it was a valid hit on their screen, the server accepts it!
Details:
- No Client Mods Needed: Players don't need to download anything. Just drop it in your server's
pluginsfolder! - Optimized for servers: Fixes Minecraft's bad hit-registration without causing TPS drops or memory leaks.
- Requirements: Works on Paper/Spigot (1.20.5 - 1.21.1) and requires PacketEvents to be installed.
