NetheriteLimiter

Fine-grained control over what netherite gear can be made, for Paper 1.21+.

Keep netherite tools while taking netherite armor out of the equation entirely — or configure exactly which pieces are craftable, per item, per category.

Features

  • Per-item control — allow or block each individual tool and armor piece independently
  • Category shortcuts — flip every tool or every armor piece at once with a single command
  • Blocks both crafting and smithing — covers the crafting-table recipe result and the smithing-table upgrade/trim path
  • Sensible defaults — all tools allowed, all armor blocked out of the box
  • Owner tracking — /maceplayer-style tracking so you know who made what (shared convention with the LifeSteal/MaceLimiter family of plugins)
  • Live reload — change the config and apply it without restarting

/netherlimit toggle <tools|armor> <item> Flip one item, e.g. toggle armor helmet
/netherlimit tools <on|off> Set every tool at once
/netherlimit armor <on|off> Set every armor piece at once
/netherlimit reload Reload the configuration

Editing config.yml directly and running /netherlimit reload works fine — but note that using the in-game toggle commands rewrites the file without comments (standard Bukkit config-saving behavior).

Setup

  1. Drop NetheriteLimiter.jar into your server's plugins/ folder.
  2. Restart the server.
  3. Adjust which tools/armor pieces are allowed via /netherlimit or directly in config.yml.

Requirements & compatibility

  • Server: Paper 1.21+ (Purpur works).
  • Java: 21 or newer.
  • No external dependencies required.

NetheriteLimiter is open-source and MIT-licensed.
