About
Omi's PVP is an all-in-one PVP plugin that adds more than just simple /pvp or admin commands. It's great for both small and big communities - especially the ones where you can't seem to figure out what parts of PVP should be illegal and what parts shouldn't! It adds things I thought were missing from most PVP plugins.
Server software: Paper and compatible Bukkit/Spigot forks, including Purpur and Pufferfish.
There are 2 versions of the plugin - Modern and Old. Modern works from 1.21.9 to the latest version, while Old works from 1.12.2 to 1.21.8. Updating from Old to Modern should be seamless.
Both versions contain essentially the same gameplay features. Modern additionally has some features that rely on newer Minecraft/Paper functionality, such as the configurable Combat Mode Bossbar/Action Bar indicator.

Commands, Features - Explained
Easy Commands
/pvp <on | off | status>- enables or disables PVP/pvpdrops <on | off | status>- enables or disables dropping items after dying in PVP (doesn't affect natural deaths)/pvpstats <assists | damage_dealt | damage_taken | deaths | help | kd | kill_streak | kills | leaderboard> [player name, or null]- allows you to view certain stats about yourself and other people
Assists
Assists aren't given to just anyone who hit the killed player. OPVP keeps track of damage dealt during the fight. If another player dealt the most damage to the victim but didn't get the final kill, they receive the assist.
For example, if Player A deals 14 damage, Player B deals 5 damage and Player B gets the final hit, Player A gets the assist.
Admin Commands
I think most of these are pretty self-explanatory.
Admin functionality is now under /opvp instead of the old /opvpadmin command.
/opvp <help | info | reload | backup | cooldown>/opvp cooldown <set | reset> <pvp | pvp_drops_change | pvp_drops_combat | membership | combat_mode | respawn_protection> [player] [seconds]- allows admins to manage OPVP cooldowns/changepvp [player name] <on | off>/changepvpdrops [player name] <on | off>
/opvp info also shows useful information about OPVP and helps you check whether a newer version of the plugin is available.
Unique and Complex Commands
Bounty
/bounty list- lists active bounties set on players/bounty leaderboard- shows the players with the highest active bounties/bounty set [player name]- shows you instructions and helps you set a bounty on a player
If you set a bounty on a person, when that person is killed the killer will receive the bounty immediately.
Bounties use actual Minecraft items rather than a forced economy dependency, so OPVP doesn't require Vault or an economy plugin.
Heirs
/heirs <add | remove> [player name]- removes or adds a player to your heir list/heirs list- lists all your heirs
Heirs are people who are permitted to pick up your items after you die naturally (like from fall damage).
Rivals
This is probably my favorite feature. Both
/rivalsand/rivalwork the same way.
/rivals challenge [player name]- challenges a player to a rivalry/rivals <accept | deny>- accepts or denies a rivalry request/rivals help- gives you help/rivals list- lists all your rivals/rivals end <null | force>- you can end a rivalry with one command if you don't have any goals set. If you do, certain conditions have to be met before it can be force-ended, or you can end it with permission from your rival/rivals set_rules [rival name] <accept | deny | forcepvp | forcepvpdrops | goals> ...- allows you to configure the rules of your rivalry/rivals set_rules [rival name] forcepvp <on | off>- allows you to force PVP with a rival if they accept. That means that even if normal PVP is off, the rivalry can still allow you to fight/rivals set_rules [rival name] forcepvpdrops <on | off>- does the same for PVP drops/rivals set_rules [rival name] goals <pvp_milestone | pvp_timed> <kd | kill_streak | kills | rival_kills> [value]- allows you to set a PVP goal. You can make the goal either a set milestone or a timed competition where the winner is determined by the best positive difference during the set time/rivals set_rules [rival name] goals <custom_milestone | custom_timed> <scoreboard stat> [value]- does the same thing, except with many Minecraft statistics. For this command to work, Vanilla Tweaks' Track Statistics & Track Raw Statistics datapacks need to be installed on the server. If they aren't present, this exact feature cleanly disappears/rivals get_goals [rival name]- shows you all the goals you have set with the chosen rival
After winning a goal against a rival, both rivals receive a message about it. If one of them is offline, they'll get it as soon as they log back on. The same applies to things like rivalry requests.
Rival Goal Rewards
Goals can also have item rewards attached to them. OPVP uses a deposit/escrow system so the rewards actually come from the players rather than being generated out of nowhere.
Both sides can accept or decline the proposed reward. Deposited items are protected while the goal is active and OPVP safely handles returning or dropping them where necessary.
PVP Clans
PVP Clans are clans that allow smaller communities to operate under their own PVP laws, create alliances, fight other clans or just unite in some way.
Both:
/pvpclan
and:
/clan
can be used.
OPVP checks for
/clanconflicts when the server starts. If another plugin already uses/clan, OPVP won't take over that command and/pvpclanwill continue working normally.
/pvpclan create [your clan name]- creates a PVP clan/pvpclan help- shows help/pvpclan info [clan name]- shows all you need to know about a clan/pvpclan join [clan name]- sends a request to join a certain clan, unless that clan has open entries, in which case you'll join immediately/pvpclan leave- leaves your current clan/pvpclan list- lists all clans on the server
Clan Management
Now the more advanced commands.
/pvpclan manage applications <accept | deny | view>- allows you to view everyone who sent a request to join your clan, or accept/deny them.viewcan be run by every clan member, whileacceptanddenyare limited to the owner and approved members/pvpclan manage disband- after typing the command twice your clan gets disbanded (only the owner can run this command)/pvpclan manage kick [player's name]- kicks a player from a clan (can only be run by the owner)/pvpclan manage modify <modifier> [value]- changes one of the clan's settings
The modifiers are:
admins <add | list | remove>- lists, adds or removes clan admins. Admins have the ability to change clan settings other than the admin list itselfapplication_approvers <add | list | remove>- manages people who have permission to approve join applicationsautonomy <true | false>- controls whether people inside the clan can individually control if they have PVP and PVP drops enabled or disabledclan_tag <tag | color | view>- views or changes the clan tag. Once configured, it will be shown in chatfriendly_fire <true | false>- decides if clan members can fight each other; by default it's set to trueopen_entry <true | false>- when true, anyone who tries to join your clan joins without needing their application approvedpvp <true | false>- enables or disables forced PVP for clan members (autonomy has to be false)pvpdrops <true | false>- enables or disables forced PVP drops for clan members (autonomy has to be false)pvp_cooldown [duration]- gives clan members a higher or lower PVP cooldown (autonomy has to be true)pvpdrops_cooldown [duration]- gives clan members a higher or lower PVP drops cooldown (autonomy has to be true)restricted_goal_reward_perms <true | false>- controls whether Clan Battle goal-reward management is restricted to authorized clan members. It's false by default
Clan Battles
Clan Battles expand the Rival system to entire clans.
Instead of only tracking one player's progress, Clan Battle goals combine the progress of the participating clan members.
/pvpclan manage battle challenge [clan]- challenges another clan/pvpclan manage battle <accept | decline>- accepts or declines a Clan Battle request/pvpclan manage battle end ...- ends an active Clan Battle, following similar goal/end rules to Rivalries/pvpclan manage battle get_goals ...- views the battle's goals/pvpclan manage battle set_goals ...- configures goals for the battle/pvpclan get_goals- provides an easier way to view Clan Battle goals
Clan Battles support the same general types of goals as Rivalries, including Vanilla Tweaks statistics when the required datapacks are installed.
They also add clan-specific objectives such as:
pvp_milestone clan_kills
which uses the clan members' combined kills.
Clan Battle Goal Rewards
Clan Battles can have item rewards too:
/pvpclan manage battle goal_reward <set | accept | decline>/pvpclan goal_reward
Rewards use OPVP's deposit/escrow system rather than generating free items. The system is designed to safely return or drop deposited items when needed.
Health Indicator
OPVP can display a player's health underneath their name.
It can be configured to display either normal HP or hearts, depending on what fits your server better.
Combat Mode Indicator
Modern OPVP can visually show the remaining Combat Mode time using:
- Bossbar
- Action Bar
- Both
Bossbar is the default, and the feature can be configured.
This is one of the features that isn't included in OPVP Old because it uses the modern implementation.
Public API
OPVP V1.1 introduces a Public API for developers who want their plugins to interact with OPVP directly.
The API can be used to work with things such as:
- PVP and PVP Drops state
- Combat Mode
- Cooldowns
- Kills, deaths, assists and kill streaks
- Player statistics
- Clans
- Rivals
- Bounties and bounty leaderboard data
There are also explicitly marked direct state-changing methods for integrations that intentionally need to bypass normal player command restrictions.
A separate lightweight OPVP-API-1.0.jar is available for developers to use as a compile-only dependency. It is not supposed to be installed in your server's plugins folder - the normal OPVP plugin already contains everything required at runtime.
Languages
Currently the plugin supports three languages:
- English (
en, default) - Polish (
pl) - German (
de)
Language can be changed in the config.
Config
Many features can be disabled or configured, so don't worry if a single feature doesn't fit your server.
Existing configurations are automatically migrated when updating. New settings are added without intentionally resetting your existing configuration.
Dependencies and Integrations
The plugin has no required dependencies and there are no plans to change that.
As mentioned above, there is an optional Vanilla Tweaks Track Raw Statistics and Track Statistics datapack integration. You can download them here.
If the required datapacks aren't installed, the features that specifically depend on them disappear without preventing the rest of OPVP from working.
Modern vs Old
OPVP Modern
- Minecraft 1.21.9+
- Intended for current Paper and compatible server software
- Includes the modern Combat Mode Bossbar/Action Bar indicator and its additional configuration
OPVP Old
- Minecraft 1.12.2 - 1.21.8
- Maintains compatibility with older Minecraft/server versions
- Contains essentially the same core gameplay systems, including Clans, Clan Battles, Rivals, Bounties, Assists and the Public API
- Doesn't include functionality that specifically depends on the modern implementation, such as the modern Combat Mode indicator
Moving from Old to Modern when updating your Minecraft server should be seamless.
Licensing
Of course everyone can use my plugin on their servers, no matter if the server has actual revenue or not and edit it for personal/server-only matters
