What is OEssentials?
OEssentials is a complete server core designed for modern Minecraft servers and multi-server networks.
Instead of installing separate plugins for homes, warps, economy, chat, player storage, moderation, rewards, marketplaces, teleportation, server utilities, and many other systems, OEssentials brings them together under one consistent platform.
It can be used on a standalone survival server or across an entire proxy network.
Enable what you need. Disable what you don't.
OEssentials is designed to grow with your server.

Previously OreoEssentials
OEssentials was previously known as OreoEssentials.
This is not simply a rename.
The project has undergone a major restructuring and architectural rewrite to provide a cleaner foundation for future development.
The modern OEssentials architecture introduces:
- A new modular architecture
- MinecraftModulith integration
- Cleaner feature ownership
- Managed module lifecycles
- Improved startup and shutdown handling
- Better separation between systems
- Cleaner configuration organization
- Improved developer APIs
- Modern Java 21 architecture
Previously OreoEssentials. Rebuilt for what comes next.
Built with MinecraftModulith
OEssentials contains a large number of independent systems.
Rather than turning the project into one giant monolithic codebase, OEssentials uses MinecraftModulith to organize features into independent managed modules.
The current architecture contains 56 MinecraftModulith modules.
Major systems have clearly defined ownership over their:
- Services
- Initialization
- Shutdown
- Listeners
- Scheduled tasks
- Resources
- Dependencies
MinecraftModulith also validates module dependencies during compilation.
For a plugin this large, architecture matters.
This approach means:
- Features have defined boundaries
- Modules know what they depend on
- Tasks are associated with the systems that created them
- Listeners can be cleaned up correctly
- Dependencies can be validated
- Startup failures can roll back cleanly
- Shutdown happens in a controlled order
- Individual systems are easier to maintain and debug
Cross-Server by Design
OEssentials was designed with Minecraft networks in mind.
Players should not lose their server environment simply because they move from one backend server to another.
Supported OEssentials systems can synchronize across your network, including:
- Inventory
- Armor
- Offhand
- Ender Chest
- Health
- Hunger
- Experience
- Potion effects
- Economy
- Custom currencies
- Homes
- Warps
- Player Warps
- Chat
- Private messages
- Teleport requests
- Player trading
- TempFly
- Moderation
- Auction House
- Market Orders
Switch servers without leaving your server ecosystem behind.
Network Infrastructure
OEssentials supports modern network infrastructure for persistent storage, caching, and real-time communication.

MongoDB
Used for persistent network data across supported modules.
RabbitMQ
Used for real-time communication between servers.
This allows systems such as chat, marketplaces, teleportation, and other network features to communicate between backend servers without relying only on database polling.
Redis

- Teleport request Accept / Deny
- Homes
- Kits
- Chat Channels
- Confirmation prompts
- Other supported OEssentials interactions
When your server uses GeyserMC, supported Paper dialogs can be presented to Bedrock players as native-style Bedrock forms.
This allows Java and Bedrock players to interact with the same OEssentials systems using an interface appropriate for their client.
Java Edition: Paper Dialog API interfaces.
Bedrock Edition: Geyser-converted Bedrock forms where supported.
Fallback: If the Paper Dialog API is unavailable, supported features can fall back to traditional inventory GUI or text-based interaction.

Integration availability can depend on the OEssentials feature being used.
Make sure any required or optional dependencies for the version you install are also listed in the Dependencies section of the corresponding Modrinth version.
Standalone or Network Setup
OEssentials does not require you to run a large network.
You can use it as the primary server core for a standalone server and enable only the systems you want.
For multi-server installations, additional infrastructure can be enabled to provide synchronization and real-time communication.
A typical network setup can use:
┌───────────────┐
│ Proxy │
└───────┬───────┘
│
┌──────────────┼──────────────┐
│ │ │
Survival Skyblock Lobby
│ │ │
└──────────────┼──────────────┘
│
┌───────────┴───────────┐
│ │
MongoDB RabbitMQ
│
Redis
optional
MongoDB provides persistent network data.
RabbitMQ provides real-time server-to-server communication.
Redis can provide caching and network-related functionality where configured.
Modular Configuration
OEssentials is designed so that you do not have to use every included feature.
Server owners can enable the systems they need and disable systems that are handled by another plugin.
This makes OEssentials suitable for both:
- Servers looking for an all-in-one core
- Existing servers that only want selected OEssentials modules
Why OEssentials?
OEssentials is intended for server owners who want a unified platform instead of maintaining a large collection of disconnected server-core plugins.
It provides:
- A large collection of server essentials in one project
- Cross-server functionality designed for networks
- Standalone server support
- Economy and custom currencies
- Auction House and Market Orders
- Homes, Warps and Player Warps
- Player storage
- Chat and messaging
- Moderation tools
- Teleportation
- Rewards
- Trading and shops
- Java and Bedrock-friendly interfaces
- Web-based tools
- Modern Java 21 architecture
- A modular MinecraftModulith-based codebase
- Developer APIs
- Paper and Folia support
Instead of building your server around dozens of unrelated systems, OEssentials provides one platform that can grow alongside your server.
Important Installation Information
OEssentials uses Java 21.
Paper is the recommended platform for access to the complete modern feature set.
Some functionality can depend on the server platform, Minecraft version, integrations, or network infrastructure being used.
For cross-server installations, configure the required storage and messaging services before enabling network synchronization.
Always check the dependency information attached to the Modrinth version you are downloading.
