PotionSMP A configurable Paper plugin combining infinite potions with Strength SMP-style weapon abilities.
Server rules Netherite tools and weapons are allowed. Netherite armor is disabled by default. Sharpness is limited to level 3, Protection to level 3 and Power to level 4 by default. Mace-exclusive enchantments (Breach, Density and Wind Burst) are disabled on Maces by default. These rules are enforced across enchanting, anvil, smithing and crafting results where applicable.
Features Configurable infinite potion recipes. Upgradable potion effects with configurable maximum levels. Up to two active infinite potion slots by default. Potion effects can be restored after a restart/rejoin. Optional potion drops on death. One assigned weapon ability per player. Weapon abilities work with the normal Minecraft item type, not only custom weapon items. For example, an assigned Sword ability works with wooden, stone, iron, golden, diamond and netherite swords. Configurable passive abilities and ultimates. /reroll [player] for administrators to reroll an assigned weapon ability. Craftable Weapon Ability Reroll item that players can use in-game. Configurable reroll pool. English player-facing messages and configuration comments suitable for an international server. Recipes are loaded automatically from config.yml and can be refreshed with /strengthsmp reload. Requirements Paper server matching the plugin's configured API target. Java 25. This project targets the Paper API configured in build.gradle. Always use the matching server version for production.
Commands Command Description Permission /ability Activate your assigned weapon ultimate. None /infinitepotion <slot> Activate an infinite potion in the selected slot. None /withdrawpotion <slot> Withdraw an active infinite potion. None /reroll [player] Reroll the assigned weapon ability. Does not create a weapon item. strengthsmp.reroll /strengthsmp reload Reload configuration and potion recipes. strengthsmp.admin Both admin permissions default to OP.
Weapon system A player is assigned one weapon ability. The ability is based on the item category the player is holding, rather than a special custom item. This allows the same assigned ability to work with normal Minecraft variants.
The configurable weapon pool currently includes:
Sword — Assassin Shield — Tank Trident — Gladiator Crossbow — Scorpion Bow — Archer Axe — Juggernaut Mace Spear Armor Configuration The main configuration file is:
plugins/PotionSMP/config.yml
Most gameplay values are configurable, including potion limits, potion maximum levels, weapon effects, passive settings, ultimate cooldowns, reroll pool and messages.

Universal Potion Upgrade Recipe All PotionSMP potions use the same upgrade recipe:
Glowstone Block | Diamond Block | Glowstone Block Diamond Block | Potion | Diamond Block Glowstone Block | Diamond Block | Glowstone Block The PotionSMP potion in the center is upgraded by exactly one level. The recipe only accepts PotionSMP potions and stops at the configured maximum level.
Item preservation Weapon abilities are applied to the player's existing Minecraft item. Activating a passive or ultimate does not rename, re-enchant, retype, repair, or replace the held weapon/tool/armor. Existing vanilla or custom item names, enchantments, lore, durability, and other item data are preserved.
In-game recipe editor Players can view PotionSMP crafting recipes without being OP. Editing recipes is OP-only by default:
/potionrecipes — opens the recipe browser. Click a potion to view its 3x3 recipe. Shift-click a potion, or use /potionrecipes edit <potion>, to edit it. Place normal Minecraft materials in the 3x3 editor and click Save Recipe. Changes are saved to config.yml and registered immediately. Permissions:
potionsmp.recipe.view — default: true potionsmp.recipe.edit — default: op You can grant potionsmp.recipe.edit to specific trusted players with LuckPerms or another permissions plugin if desired.
