QuickSmelt
A PaperMC plugin that reduces smelting time across all furnace types with full per-furnace configuration.
How It Works
When a furnace starts smelting an item, QuickSmelt intercepts the cook time and multiplies it by a configurable value. A multiplier of 0.5 means items take 50% of the normal time — twice as fast. Fuel consumption is unaffected by default, so you naturally get more items per piece of coal.
Works with all three furnace types:
- Furnace
- Blast Furnace
- Smoker
Installation
Drop quicksmelt-1.0.0.jar into your server's plugins/ folder and restart.
Configuration
Found at plugins/QuickSmelt/config.yml after first launch.

enabled: true

blast-furnace:

speed-multiplier: 0.5
smoker:

speed-multiplier: 0.5
min-cook-time: 20
scale-fuel: false
speed-multiplier
Controls how fast items smelt. Applied to the default cook time in ticks.
| Value | Effect |
|---|---|
0.5 |
2× faster |
0.25 |
4× faster |
0.1 |
10× faster |
1.0 |
Vanilla speed |
2.0 |
2× slower |
min-cook-time
Minimum cook time in ticks regardless of multiplier. Prevents instant smelting. Default is 20 (1 second).
scale-fuel
When false (default), fuel burns at vanilla speed. Since items smelt faster, you get more items per piece of fuel. When true, fuel burn time is scaled down to match, keeping items-per-fuel equal to vanilla.
