In most cases, 7z lzma2 and solid compression can reach a ratio of 20% for Minecraft data, which is far less than zip deflate. Using 7z for backups can save drive stroage significantly, 40% smaller than zip archives at average.

There's a configuration for 7z compression levels presets. Check it out in config.yml. As shown above, the fastest preset L0 still takes less size than zip archive. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND level 5 or lower. L3 is fine enough.
