Make every PvP kill count. Players killed by other players drop Soul Shards you can spend on any potion effect in the game. Every death leaves a death chest that puts your gear back exactly where it was, and every kill fills your Soul Power bar for extra damage.
No resource pack needed. Made for Paper 1.21.11.
Soul Shards
- When a player is killed by another player, a Soul Shard drops where they died. Falls, lava and mobs don't drop one.
- Soul Shards are echo shards underneath, so any resource pack that retextures echo shards changes Soul Shards too.
- They stack to 64, never despawn, and can't be destroyed by lava, fire, cactus or explosions.
- Shards you're carrying always drop when you die, so your killer can grab them.
- Anti-farming: once a player has been killed 2 times in a row, killing them drops no new shard for the next 10 minutes.
Right-click menu
Right-click a Soul Shard (or a whole stack) to open a menu with every potion effect in the game: level I for 1 minute, 1 shard each.
- Every shard you spend also repairs the armor you're wearing by 50%.
- Extra buttons: Repair Armor, Heal (4 hearts) and Feed (6 hunger).
Death chests
When a player dies, their items go into a chest at the exact spot they died, at the same height. It's an entity, not a block, so it never replaces blocks and never despawns.
- Hit your own chest and every item goes back into the exact slot it was in, with your armor straight back on. Anything in the way drops at your feet, and only you can pick it up.
- Hit someone else's chest to grab whatever fits in your inventory. The rest stays in the chest.
- Right-click to open it. Anyone can take items out; nobody can put items in.
- Chests disappear once they're empty, and they're saved to disk, so restarts never lose anything.
Soul Power
- Every PvP kill gives +0.2 Soul Power, up to 5, shown on a blue bar.
- Each point is +1 attack damage, so a full bar hits for +5 damage.
- Get killed by a player while your bar is full and it shatters back to 0. Your killer only gets the normal +0.2.
