Safely reset Minecraft structures without regenerating chunks
StructureCycle restores structures to a captured clean state without replacing chunks or entire regions. It discovers vanilla and data-pack structures from the live server registry, captures their exact pieces, backs up the current structure before every reset, and lets administrators roll the reset back when needed.
Why StructureCycle?
Structures on public servers are often looted or damaged once and then remain empty forever. Regenerating chunks can destroy player builds, change terrain, or replace far more of the world than intended. StructureCycle targets the structure pieces themselves so administrators can refresh content while protecting the surrounding world.
Features
- Registry-driven discovery for vanilla and data-pack structures
- Exact piece-based snapshots of blocks, block states, containers, block entities, and entities
- Manual and automatic resets without chunk regeneration
- A retained pre-reset backup with rollback support
- A polished inventory GUI with pagination, filters, details, previews, controls, and confirmations
- Per-type defaults plus per-structure reset-mode and cooldown overrides
- Configurable safety boundaries that prevent resets while players are nearby
- Clear messages naming the players blocking an operation
- Activity tracking for blocks, buckets, explosions, pistons, and entity block changes
- Transactional recapture, atomic metadata saves, operation locking, and interrupted-capture recovery
- No dependencies, telemetry, advertisements, accounts, or external services
Compatibility
One unchanged JAR supports Minecraft 1.21.4 through 26.3 on:
- CraftBukkit / Spigot
- Paper
- Purpur
- Compatible Bukkit/Paper forks
Folia is not supported. Install StructureCycle on each backend world server, not on Velocity or BungeeCord.
Minecraft 1.21.4–1.21.11 requires Java 21 or newer. Minecraft 26.1–26.3 requires Java 25 or newer.
Installation
- Stop the server.
- Put
StructureCycle.jarin the server'spluginsfolder. - Start the server.
- Grant administrators
structurecycle.admin, or use operator permissions. - Run
/scto open the structure browser.
No dependencies are required. Existing worlds are supported, and structures are indexed as their chunks load. If a nearby structure has not appeared yet, stand inside it and run /sc scan.
First baseline
Capture a structure before players loot or modify it. The state at capture time becomes the clean state used by future resets.
- Visit the structure and run
/sc scanif needed. - Open
/scand select the structure. - Preview the affected boundaries.
- Select Capture baseline and confirm.
- Move every player outside the displayed safety area before resetting.
Villages, strongholds, and mineshafts are disabled by default because players commonly build in them. You can deliberately change their policies in config.yml or override an individual structure through the GUI or commands.
