New Features
-
Added a reload command,
/water reload, so changes to the server settings, the biome rates, the water bar and the recipes take effect straight away instead of needing a restart. -
Added three admin commands.
/water setgives a player an exact water level,/water addraises or lowers a level by an amount, and/water resetreturns a player to the level they start with. All three refuse impossible values and keep a player inside the configured limits. -
Added command suggestions. Pressing tab now completes every command, item name and player name as you type.
-
Added a choice of water bar displays, so each server can pick the experience bar, text above the hotbar, a boss bar along the top of the screen, or a sidebar panel. The number of bar segments, the symbols and the colors can all be changed.
-
Added configurable warning and critical water levels, so a server decides exactly when players are warned and when low-water effects begin.
-
Added an option for how far purification messages reach, an option to choose which effect is applied when water runs critically low, and a death message for players who die of thirst, which can be turned off or rewritten.
Bug Fixes
-
Fixed waterskins blocking every block interaction. Holding a waterskin and right-clicking a chest, door, crafting table or any other block drank from the waterskin and cancelled the click, so the block never responded.
-
Fixed water and waterlogged blocks cancelling every right-click. Blocks could no longer be placed into water, waterlogged chests and doors could not be used, and anything held in the hand stopped working whenever a waterlogged stair, slab or fence was clicked.
-
Fixed the water bar, low-water warnings and the check command ignoring a custom maximum water level, so all of them now match the setting instead of always using one hundred.
-
Fixed the low-water effects never being applied because the example effects used outdated names. Outdated names in an existing setup are now translated automatically and reported in the console.
-
Fixed the configurable slowness duration being ignored. The effect now really is applied when water drops to the critical level, and its type, duration and strength can be set.
-
Fixed partially used dirty waterskins being impossible to purify. A dirty waterskin with any number of charges left can now be purified, and it no longer comes back full.
-
Fixed rainwater cauldrons being unusable. Water can now be taken from a filled cauldron with a bottle or an empty waterskin, which lowers the cauldron by one level. Bottled cauldron water is always clean.
-
Fixed player water levels being saved in a way that could lose progress or damage the stored data when several saves happened at the same time. Saving is now serialised and always completes before the plugin shuts down.
-
Fixed the water recipes staying behind after the plugin was reloaded or disabled, which left the server unable to craft or cook water items until it was restarted.
-
Fixed jumping almost never counting as activity, so the jumping dehydration multiplier now actually applies.
-
Fixed players in creative and spectator mode losing water and taking thirst damage. Only survival and adventure players are affected now.
-
Fixed the give command accepting anything as an item name and silently handing out the wrong item.
-
Fixed thirst damage landing an extra hit the moment water ran out, and thirsty deaths being reported as an ordinary death. Players who die of thirst now get a proper dehydration death message.
-
Fixed repeated rain checks doing the same work many times over for players standing near each other, and settings changes only taking effect after a restart.
-
Fixed the water bar taking over the experience bar without ever handing it back, and being shown to players who were not being tracked at all.
-
Fixed player entries being kept in memory forever after logging out, and low-water effects being removed when they were no longer needed being unreliable.
-
Fixed the console being unable to use any water command, and admins having no way to check or change another player's water level.
-
Fixed custom water items being accepted by unrelated crafting recipes, which could consume a waterskin or water bottle by accident.
-
Fixed the plugin's description listing the wrong waterskin recipe and a setting that did not actually work.
-
Fixed the placeholder values disagreeing with the configured maximum, breaking when the maximum was not set correctly, and ignoring the configured bar symbols and colors.
-
Fixed filling water being spammable with no feedback, and bottles being taken from the wrong inventory slot when several were held.
-
Fixed players in the hottest places in the world losing water slower than they should, because those areas were not covered by the default heat settings.
-
Fixed the version being different in different places. Everything now reports one version, and the author is credited everywhere.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
