AFTERDEATH WIKI IS IN PROGRESS

When you die, you rise again as a zombie player. Your inventory drops, your abilities change, and you must find a way to cure yourself - or embrace the undead life.
- Getting hit by zombies or cave spiders gradually infects you.
- Infection progresses through 3 stages with increasing debuffs.
- Dynamic HUD: A custom on-screen progress bar and fullscreen tint will visually track your exact infection percentage.
- At 100% (Infection Stage III), you transform into a zombie player.
- Entering Infected Water or standing on infected blocks will actively inflict Poison and Nausea.
- You can eat Totem Shards or Golden Apples to reduce infection.
- Beware of Infected Water and over 450 new Infected Block variants spreading through the environment.
- The Gas Zombie: A dangerous hostile zombie variant that spits toxic projectiles and leaves lingering infected gas clouds upon death.
- Submerging vanilla mobs in Infected Water for 15 seconds will cause them to violently shake and mutate into their undead variants:
- Zombies > Drowned
- Husks > Zombies
- Villagers > Zombie Villagers
- Piglins > Zombified Piglins
- Horses > Zombie Horses

Toss vanilla iron items into Infected Water to create the new Rusty Iron set (Armor, Tools, Shears, Blocks, Buckets, Doors, Trapdoors, Bars, Horse Armor, Shields, Lanterns, and Chains).
- Rusty tools inflict Poison on mobs and Infection on players. Rusty Armor acts like Thorns, infecting attackers (but it slowly infects the wearer too).
- Rusty Armor and Tools can be fully repaired in an anvil using Rusty Iron Ingots. (The Rusty Shield, which fully supports Banner Patterns, is repaired with Infected Planks).
- Rusty Horse Armor provides the exact same Thorns (infection/poison) counter-attack effect as player Rusty Armor.
- Harvesting any infected block in Survival mode strictly requires using the correct matching Rusty Iron tool.
- Slaying a Gas Zombie specifically with a Rusty tool completely prevents it from releasing its toxic gas cloud.
- Rusty Buckets instantly convert normal water into Infected Water upon scooping. (Just don't try to scoop lava with one).

- Splash Potion of Holiness: A brand new brewable item. Craft it by placing a Totem Shard and Splash Water Bottles into a Brewing Stand.
- When thrown, it instantly cures infected blocks and water within a 4-block radius, fully cures players in the early infection stages, and acts as a Super Fertilizer on crops.
- Hitting fully-turned Zombie or Skeleton players drops them to half a heart and applies a massive "Stun" debuff (Slowness, Weakness, and Glowing) - making them vulnerable to a Forced Cure.
- Sponges can absorb Infected Water, turning into Wet Infected Sponges (which can be dried by smelting).

You can use the built-in World Converter directly from the mod's Config Screen. With one click, the tool will automatically create a safe backup of your save file, scan your entire world, and restore all infected blocks and water back to their normal vanilla states.

- Infected Lake: A highly dangerous, naturally generating source of Infected Water. (Can generate in all biomes except Mushroom Island)
- Graveyard: Brave the dangers to find unique loot chests hidden inside ancient Coffins. (Can generate in all biomes except Mushroom Island)
- Burn in sunlight.
- Night vision in darkness.
- Hostile mobs ignore you (before you touch them).
- You cannot sprint during the day unless in darkness, rain, or thunder.
- Limited inventory (left and right hands).
- Raw meat heals more, cooked food is worse.
- Iron Golems & Snow Golems attack you.
- Villagers and Wandering Traders flee from you.
- Breathe underwater.
- Killing a Villager, Horse, Piglin, or Wandering Trader will instantly convert them into their undead variant.
- As you rot, you gain massive combat resistance against players and mobs, but become significantly more vulnerable to sunlight and fall damage.

Fresh Drowned -> Rotting Drowned -> Bloated Drowned -> Bogged
- Gain an underwater navigation speed buff (Fresh +20%, Rotting +40%, Bloated +50%, togglable).
- Your thrown tridents never lose durability and automatically gain a returning loyalty effect (no enchantment required, togglable).
- You are highly sensitive to solar heat, taking increased damage under the sun (Fresh 1.25x, Rotting 1.5x, Bloated 2.0x, togglable).
- Reach the final Bogged stage to grow mushrooms directly on your head! Other players can shear you for red and brown mushrooms, starting a 10-minute regrowth timer.
Fresh Husk -> Rotting Husk -> Mummified Husk -> Parched
- You are entirely immune to burning under direct sunlight.
- Your melee attacks inflict Hunger on your targets (configurable duration).
- You drown 3x faster, receive Slowness II when submerged in water, and receive Slowness I when standing in rain (togglable).
- Reaching the Mummified Husk stage grants you a permanent 75% reduction to all fire damage.
- The Drying Bar: A new progress bar. It fills up whenever a Zombie player stands in dry biomes (Deserts, Badlands, Savannas, Nether) or when a Drowned player is out of water and rain. Standing in water or rain instantly empties it.
- Heat Mutations:
- If a Drowned player dries out completely (reaches 100% on the Drying Bar) or takes fatal sun damage, they revert to their corresponding tier of Zombie.
- If a Zombie player reaches 100% on the Drying Bar in a hot/dry biome, they bake into their corresponding tier of Husk.
- Submergence Mutations:
- If a Zombie player runs out of air and drowns, they transform into their corresponding tier of Drowned.
- If a Husk player runs out of air and drowns, they hydrate and convert back into their corresponding tier of Zombie.

- Skeletons don't need to eat. Instead, you heal yourself by right-clicking with Bones.
- You have infinite arrows and your bows/crossbows will never take durability damage.
- Because you have no eyes, you can safely stare at Endermen without angering them.
- Reach the final stage to become 100% immune to fire and lava, inflict the Wither effect on melee hits, heal from the Wither effect, and never take sword durability damage.
- Blazes are highly aggressive toward all undead players except Wither Skeletons, which they will treat as neutral Nether allies.
- [NEW!] Nether Ascension: Skeletons are born of cold earth, but forged in fire. Surviving as a Parched, Bogged, or standard Skeleton in the Nether for 30 minutes will permanently mutate you into a Wither Skeleton.
- [NEW!] Specialized Ammo: When your inventory is completely empty of arrows, shooting bows as a Bogged skeleton will fire Poison arrows, and as a Parched skeleton will fire Weakness arrows.

As a fully decomposed undead, you are a commander of the horde.
- Old Zombie players can tame other zombie-type mobs using Rotten Flesh, while Wither Skeleton players can tame skeleton-type mobs using Bones.
- Tamed undead will follow and defend you. Skeleton arrows will pass harmlessly through you and your other minions. (Note: Tamed mobs automatically untame if you transition forms or are cured).
- Zombie players can tame and ride Zombie Horses using Rotten Flesh, and Skeleton players can tame and ride Skeleton Horses using Bones (A saddle is also required to ride them).
- Skeleton players can tame, ride, and actually steer Spiders (and Cave Spiders, if enabled in config).

- Get the Weakness effect (splash potion or any other item that gives a Weakness effect).
- Eat a Golden Apple.
- Eat the Heart of Life.
Human players can now forcefully cure an undead player in combat.
- Zombie Curing: Humans can throw a Splash Potion of Holiness to "stun" a Zombie Player, then right-click them with a Golden Apple to cure them. The newly cured player receives massive survival buffs (Regeneration II and Absorption I) to help them escape.
- Skeleton Surgery: Once stunned with holy water, humans must right-click them with 24 Rotten Flesh to rebuild their body limb-by-limb, before finally applying the Golden Apple.

Zombie players can steal the body of living players they kill in PvP - curing themselves (by 50%) while zombifying the victim.
A massive, new advancement tree containing 38 advancements. Unlock milestones for surviving as a zombie, crafting Rusty Iron gear, stealing bodies, acting as a Field Surgeon, raising an Army of the Dead, or crafting specialized survival gear.

A unique equipment item that expands your hotbar by 3 extra slots when worn as a chestplate. Items persist inside the sack when unequipped. Can be crafted with 7 rabbit/normal leather and 1 string. You can use the 0, - and = to access the extra slots quickly.
The Sack can be dyed into all 16 different colors (your items will safely transfer over when re-dyeing).

111 server-side options and 15 client-side options. Toggle every single feature, adjust damage multipliers, customize UI elements and more.
Added a built-in Search Bar to instantly find any setting by name, description, or value.
