Astigmatism
Minecraft through astigmatic eyes. Lighting stays vanilla; the shader changes how the world looks through your eyes.
What it does
- Directional blur: everything smears along one axis. Edges running along it stay sharp, edges across it blur.
- Ghosting: a faint double image, offset along the same axis.
- Light streaks: torches, lanterns, glowstone, fire and the moon stretch into cross-shaped streaks. Each light gets its own tilt depending on where it is on screen, and the streak turns as you look around.
- Halos: a soft glow around lights. The moon glows evenly across its whole disc.
- Only in the dark: streaks and halos appear at night and in caves, and fade away in bright daylight.
- Distance-aware: lights right next to you only glow; the streaks show up on lights further away.
Only real light sources streak. The snow or stone a torch lights up doesn't.
